  Sand In My Pants

Softcore Volleyball Champions
9-0

Sand In My Pants came in here with one thing in their minds, and that was to win that championship. Throughout the regular season, Sand In My Pants was making work of all the teams going 6-0. After capturing the number 1 seed in the league, Sand In My Pants bullied their way through the playoffs to ultimately win the championship. Now it wasn't as easy as it seemed. Sand In My Pants showed hard work and determination to win it all.

All season long Rachel led the team with her pin point passing accuracy. Her passes were always where you wanted it to be. But what made Rachel so special was her ability to set the ball. Rachel is probably the best setter in the softcore division, making every ball easy to hit for her spikers. From anywhere on the court, Rachel was able to get the perfect height and separation from the net for a perfect kill. The main beneficiary of those sets was Alex, who could elevate over any defender to send it down. Alex was all over the net, competing everytime the ball was in the air. What makes this team special is the kind of determination Alex displays on a nightly basis. Katelyn was the team's best pure passer. She made life easy on Rachel where all the passes would be on point. Katelyn had a smooth calm to her, never getting flustered by any pass or spike. She popped it right up like a champ and just moved on to the next play. Noah was a great server. His accuracy was dead on, able to locate the ball to the open spots. The opposition didn't know how to read Noah. Noah was also a great hitter on the team. His length made it difficult to tip his spikes or even try to get one over him. And then there was Andy. Andy is the scrapper on the team who made the plays that no one else would be able to make. He dove, he ate sand, but he got that ball back in play for another point. Andy showed extreme hustle to cover end to end of the sandy courts.

Sand In My Pants had a perfect recipe for a perfect season. Bump, set, spike, they had it all. The skills were impressive but the trust they displayed with each other is what held them together. They all depended on each other's skill set and knew exactly how each one would play. Sand In My Pants are now looking to make the jump to the midcore division!!! It won't be an easy task, but if any team has a chance at winning the whole thing, it's Sand In My Pants! Watch out fellow Underdog hardwood players, because Sand In My Pants are now bringing the hustle to you!

Volleyball Champions
Perfect Season

Our Late Summer Volleyball Champions are the high flying, hard spiking, I'd Hit That. Throughout the season I'd Hit That didn't even have a single blemish on their record. This group competed everytime they got on the court and perfected their craft night in and night out. It was poetry in motion when watching them play.

I'd Hit That had a perfect blend of size and athleticism. Brad was a monster at the net, able to overlook the defender to make the smart tip to the open areas. Brad also was able to smother any ball the opposition tried to send over. Nothing was getting past him. Kathryn didn't make it any easier for the other team as she was just as dominant on the net as well. Kathryn was able to sky in the air to give two handed denials left and right. Kathryn was also a polished setter who made everything just run smoothly for I'd Hit That. Graham may just be the best spiker this league has seen. The velocity of the ball is mind boggling. The opponents had no answer to Graham's spikes. If they got an arm out, then you can see them hesitate to try and do that again. The pain is real. This trio created the best net defense and offensive play. But the one putting on the volleyball clinic was Laura. Laura showed a complete repertoire of volleyball skills. Her passes were money all night long. She was able to cover the whole court without a problem. She made all the digs look like a walk in the park. Laura who is the shortest on her team, also spiked the ball just like her teammates. Laura's placement was outstanding and the opposition had no idea how to read her.

I'd Hit That is a team that has a chance to go down as the best Underdog has ever seen. With a few more championships under their belt, this potential dynasty will be making noise for years to come. Amazing job I'd Hit That!
