Sacks Bag Championship

Sacks n Racks completed their run to the softcore championship with their hard fought 4-3 victory over the Everett Stinkers on Thursday night with storms in the area. Lightning could be seen all around the facility but was always far enough away to be of any real danger. As the weather held up for the game, so did the defenses for both squads. Playing on 90' bases due to a field error, both teams overcame the obstacle to play stellar defense. Each team had their shots to score but were always turned away by one great play after another.Sacks n Racks was able to pull themselves together on offense in the 7th inning to go ahead for good with one big run. Ending the game was Ty Gibson with an unassisted double play. Congratulations Sacks n Racks on the Championship!

Great Defense Earns Title for FMB

The #5 seed in the Midcore division, Field My Balls, was able to avoid a letdown after their big upset victory over Shawn Kemp 2 weeks ago to earn the championship. Due to rain the previous week, and lightning in the area on this night, FMB had to wait two weeks to try and earn the championship as another lower seed, #7 Ballsagna, was also able to make a run to the title game. FMB didn't let the layoff hurt them, however, as they played stellar defense en route to a shutout 8-0 win over Ballsagna for the title. In a very heated game, FMB was able to get out to a lead in the first inning and never looked back. Putting pressure on their opponents was Danny "Lightning McQueen Legs" Graham with his superior speed and base running knowledge. He scored 4 of FMB's 8 runs. Fitting that a guy whose nickname has "lightning" in it would play a huge part in a big game with lightning flashing all around. Congratulations to Field My Balls on their championship!
