Melissa showed the true grit of a female athlete by not letting her male counterparts overpower her defensive efforts. She complimented her defensive prowess with an impressive offensive performance just missing kicking for the cycle. Melissa was by far the best kickballer on the field this week.

Chris showed all the qualities of a great kickballer on Monday night. First he displayed his power at the plate, kicking a bases clearing triple to drive in three runs. Second was his agility in field, running down multiple fly balls. Lastly and most important was his great sportsmanship. While running towards third, Chris declared the ball hit him before the ump made a ruling. That kind of honesty keeps the game fun and exciting for all. Great job Chris!

In a nail biter of a game, David came up big with a great defensive play to end the game. With 1 out and the tying and winning run on base in the final inning , the opposing team kicked a sharp line drive towards David playing shortstop. After making the tough catch, he had the awareness to fire a strike back to first to catch the runner off base and seal the victory.

Colleen turned in the best all-around game of the day. She started off by driving in 2 runs early and kept the pressure on the defense by always being on base. Along with her great performance at the plate, Colleen turned in the play of the night. On a sharply hit line drive , she not only made the extremely tough catch but also showed the presence of mind to sprint back to second to double off the runner. Well done Colleen!

The playoffs are the time when the stars shine and none of them were brighter than Laurie. In both games she held down third base like a champ, anchoring the defense as she has done all year. Making catch after catch, nothing got by Laurie. Not to be out done by her defensive prowess, she was always putting pressure on her opponents with blazing speed and excellent kickball placement. Great season Laurie and congrats to the champions!
