Balls 'N Dolls, Blue Balls, Buntcake - Indy #1, Pitches Be Crazy
Luke Hagel
Dragon Goats
Nothing starts a good rally like a homerun. And thats exactly what Luke Hagel did. With his team down and a man on 2nd, Luke stepped up and booted one to centerfield just past the defender and booked it home. That kick gave his team the momentum to pull ahead and eventually hold em off. Nice boot Luke!
It takes a game or two to get the hang of the kickball game, and Scott Meslin surpassed that. Scott was like a kickball vacuum. Every ball that came his way was either caught or stopped. He also made a nice catch and doubled up the runner that didn't tag-up on 1st. Keep up the defense Scott!

Cindy Tan
Liquid Courage
In a game thought to be a lighthearted affair, ended up being one of the best games I've been witness to. This game went back and forth until the end. One team would take the lead by 3 and the other team would race back up by 2. Every inning was as exciting as the last. It all came down to Cindy Tan. Cindy bunted with a man on 3rd charging home. The catcher aimed as low as he could but let the ball sail on him a little bit and hit Cindy in the head. That allowed Cindy to be safe and the winning run to cross the plate. Cindy did more than just that, she also made a nice diving catch at shortstop that had her rolling on the ground. Way to play out there Cindy!
This week's POTW goes to Lawrence. This guy was up beat and as energetic as anybody I've ever seen. He led his teams to a double header victory and making the game winning out in their last game. Great job!
Don't listen to anyone who tells you its easy to catch a kickball, because its not as easy as it may seem. But its players like Laura that are the exception to that. Laura made the last out of one inning and the next inning, made all 3 with some nice catches at 2nd base. At the plate she made it to 1st every time up. Great job!
There is a reason there is 4 infielders, so there is no chance for a pop fly to fall in the infield. But Buntcake could have had the shortstop just sit in the dugout because Sydney held it down. She caught a pop fly that should have easily been the shortstop's but Sydney ran over, waved them off, and made the catch. She was like The Flash on the bases too. She scored every time she got on base. Way to play Sydney!

Ash Higgins
Dragon Goats
This weeks player of the week goes to Ash and his game ending heroics. With the game on the line in a one run game a bullet was kicked down third-base line with the bases loaded. Before the ending is told it should be mentioned that the field was soaked, and the rains were heavy, so conditions were very slick. Ash was able to slide into position, and make a catch on a ball in which if it got by would have scored at least 2 runs. Great game Ash!
Its always nice to come up to the plate with the bases loaded because you know you have a good chance of bringing in a run. Its even better when you bring in everybody. Which is exactly what Kevin did. And with that one swift kick, Kevin gave his team a comfortable lead and coasted to the victory. Nice kicking Kevin!
This week's POTG summoned his inner Mr. Perfect. John kicking average was 1.000 going 3 for 3. One of those 3 kicks was a triple that brought a run in. He also had 4 RBI's. Nice work out there John!
Kevin gives at least 100% on every play and is always focused on the task at hand. On Monday, Kevin had a great bobbling catch, a couple nice put-outs and had some big kicks with an RBI and run scored.
Keep up the great work and thanks again Kevin for staying and playing in the second game. Even without a victory this week and being the final out of game 2, Kevin still left with smile on his face--thanks for the great play and even better attitude!!
It feels good to know that you played better than you did the last game. That's exactly why Ashley feels good now. Her team saw a great improvement from her last game and that's why she earned POTW. At the mound, Ashley was making catches left and right despite the rain. It was almost like she didn't need a team behind her. She did great at the plate too, getting on base everytime up and scoring a few runs for her team. Nice playing Ashley and good luck in the championship.
If you have seen the Dragon Goats play then you have seen Carly play just about every position on the field. She's a Jill-of-all-trades on the kickball field except she has mastered it all. In this game she played pitcher and outfield and did great. While pitching she kept the other team scoreless and while in the outfield caught everything out there but a cold. Great work out there Carly!
