Jon Salkeld knocked 'em down!
Jon Salkeld knocked 'em down!
Gorilla Biscuits
He was quiet and unassuming. He came for a fun night of bowling. And he killed it! Perhaps it was built up anticipation after having the first night of league cancelled? Or maybe he's just that much of a rock star. Either way, Jon managed to nonchalantly pull off a score of 213 in his first game (consisting of six strikes and two spares) to lead Gorilla Biscuits to victory over All Balls, No Glory. Great job to Jon and his team!

Theme Night - Pajama Night
Fuzzy Pink Prevails
Fuzzy Pink Prevails
The alley was crawling with fuzzy robes, flannel pants, and some incredible (no always in a good way!!) onesies. As Tuesday night bowling kicked off it's second night, the teams were pumped and ready to knock down pins even if they all looked ready for bed!

However there was one pink fuzzy robe that stood out from the rest. Looking especially cozy and comfortable in a pink moo moo, Erica from Wild Turkey came to play. She got four strikes in a row on her first game, then finished off the tenth frame of that game with the elusive 10th Frame Turkey! She claims it's the power of the pink moo moo, but there may have been some skill involved; if she wears the moo moo next week and kills the competition again, then we'll all know where the skill comes from! Great job to Erica, Wild Turkey and all of the Tuesday night teams!!

Bye Week 2/14
She ain't no plain Jane...

Softies
The scene on Tuesday night was a bit more subdued this week...but not any less serious. Teams all rolled in with their game faces on, ready to bowl their way to victory. Jane with the Softies was no exception.

The Softies team captain arrived with pep in her step and a fantastic tan that she got in Thailand. Her competition, Ride'em Rough, was so confused as to why her skin would be so dark; it's such an uncommon thing to see in Seattle these days! But Jane used their confusion to her advantage; while they were scratching their heads, she kept knocking down pins. And despite the fact that she had major surgery on her bowling-arm shoulder a mere five weeks ago, she managed to score a 116 on her first game to be her team's high-scoring female. The Softies fought hard now that they had their leader back in town, but unfortunately fell short of a win; they finished the night with a 1-3 score against Ride'em Rough. But she's promised to stretch and work on her shoulder this week so she can come back with a vengeance next week and walk away with a victory!

Lickitty Splits
Tiffany be nimble...Tiffany be quick. Tiffany knocked over all of the bowling sticks!!!

She shows up week after week with a smile on her face and unwavering determination. And she "bowled" her teammates over by scoring two strikes in her first game, a new career high! After numerous games of cheering her team on, Tiffany finally made her way onto the scoreboard! Keep up the smiles and great spirit Tiffany!!

Ride'em Rough
This weeks elite bowler goes to a member of Ride'em Rough. With a clean sweep of all 4 points accumulated it was Pam B. who set the bar in the first game for her Rough Riding mates. Pam splashed the pins on every bowl for a solid 165, and was the anchor for the team. With her 165 and her teams total of 586 in the first game, their opponent was deflated early, and ever mouted a comeback. Great job Pam, and to the rest of the Riders!

Softies
While John may not have had the best game of his life on Tuesday, and while he may have been reprimanded for his whistle blowing (reminiscent from his coaching days, perhaps?), there was not a single week when John showed up without a smile on his face and words of encouragement for everyone around him. There were many who even said "man, that guy really knows how to work the crowd," and they were right! He was often found a few lanes down from his teammates, cheering on opposing teams and spreading the fun and goofiness. John, thanks for always having a great time with everyone around you!
