This past Sunday at The Garage in Capitol Hill, Lee made sure all of her friends had a ball. Pumping enthusiasm into her games all night long, Lee exuberantly cheered on her teammates and bowled plenty of nice frames of her own. For embodying the Underdog spirit and helping everyone have a good time, Lee is our player of the week. Congratulations!
Pin It to Win It caught this sports fan's eye early on - the matching grey Underdog team shirts seemed out of place for the bowling alley, where jeans fashion tees are the norm. Turns out! this crew has a double-header every Sunday- they play flag football at Memorial Stadium before taking their talents to the Garage. Talk about Sunday Sunday! We loved hearing how this crew has played with UD for years - and as members branched out and moved away, they still come together on Sundays. Underdog loves that we can provide a reason to bring Pin It to Win It back together.
Sentimental moments aside, this team brought it last night! The pin falls were works of art. The pick-ups were master pieces! And the excitement was over-flowing.
This week, Lucia was both the emotional leader and premier bowler of her team. Constantly encouraging her teammates, Lucia inspired everyone around her. In addition, Lucia bowled 3 out of 4 strikes at one point, which was a highlight in Comedy of Spares' performance. For her multifaceted effect on the game, Lucia is our player of the week. Congratulations!
The sunshine had the Sunday bowling crew feeling good! Spirits were lifted, cheeks or sun-kissed, and the party started before the league did. This sports fan loved the inclusive and welcoming spirit on display at lane 11. Celebrating subs and their competition - it was all about the good times and friendly atmosphere. We saw some above - average scores, some terrible poker hands, and got a vocabulary lesson to boot! Great work this week, Glory Bowl!
What made me first notice Apurva, she was celebrating her second consecutive strike. She was whoopin' and her team was hollerin'. Quick to admit she was having a better game than usual, Apurva's energy compliments that of her teammates - fun and inclusive (did you see their sunnies tonight???).
With a very cool back story (ask her home many countries she's lived in) - Apurva is quick to make friends and to initiate team bonding. That's How We Roll - formerly "Indy #B8"- have really been a match made in Underdog heaven! I'm looking forward to hearing about their TBD team outing (with Apurva acting as social chair).
You're wonderful, Apurva!! So happy to have you be a part of Underdog!
Susie E bowled the games of her life on Sunday night, leading her team to victory and a league title. After claiming she had never bowled over a 140, Susie bowled a 179 in the semifinal and a 154 in the championship game to win both by a combined 8 pins. Susie had perfect form tonight, at one point rolling 5 strikes in a row. Well done Susie!
