Bunt Force Trauma, Hold my Kick, Pitches be Crazy, Scared Kickless - Indy #K13
Breck Yunits
Don't Stop Ballieving
When you are playing with only 7 players, you need to be aggressive in every facet of the game. On the offensive side, Breck Y took that role to heart, waving runners around bases from his 1st (and sometimes 3rd) base coach position. If there was a chance to force a throw, he sent his runners, and usually they ended up safe. It isn't often a team with 7 players is competitive, and even rarer a time where they win. Thanks to a great team effort, Don't Stop Ballieving can add that to their resume.

Megan Campbell
Megan Has the Runs!
Today, Megan came in clutch, flushing in a stream of runs for her team and effectively leading We Have the Runs to victory. She went 5 for 5, never getting caught out on the base path and always giving the team her runs. She looked like a pro in right field, catching kick balls left and right, up and down to limit the opposition to a solid 3 runs. Way to run, Megan!

Jose Perez
Freshly Shaven
Jose brought a great competitive and fun attitude to the field. Expertly balancing respect and insult in a way that was thoroughly entertaining for all.

Emily Fix
Scared Kickless - Indy #K13
Emily was chatty friendly and fun. She had a good attitude on the field, asked a lot of questions, and took instruction well. She is the embodiment of the spirit of Underdog kickball

Nicole Weir
Scared Kickless - Indy #K13
Nicole was great. She had a few close calls go against her, and afterward she was calm, understanding, and asked a lot of good questions. She really wanted to play well, but also play within the rules.

James Oleinik
Hold my Kick
Pitched a complete game shutout. His fastball was really working, never tried to do anything fancy, just low and straight all game and let his defense do the work.

Jonathan Gill
Defense for Days!!
There was a lot of great kickball played this week, but the player with the best performance was Johnathan Gill. He was all over the field making great catches and showing his great range! The defense was the best thing, but he also contributed on the offensive side rounding out this great performance.

Willie Schneider
Pitches be Crazy
This was a game full of close and tough calls. Willie was honest and informative, and understanding when the call didn't go his way. He helped things go smooth and kept his team together.

Jose Perez
Freshly Shaven
As clutch as Pig Papi, Jose scored the lone run for Freshly Shaven in the bottom of the last inning. His ego and hubris was decidedly appropriate as he taunted his way down the baseline for the walk-off moral victory.
It was playoff kickball this past Tuesday at the Ballard Boys and Girls' Club. In the initial round of the playoffs, Anna Dyer provided the spark her team needed to upset Don't Stop Balleivin, who was the higher seed. Between kicking and bunting, Anna was able to tally 4 RBIs on the day. For contributing the majority of her team's offense on the day, Anna is our player of the week.
Megan gets our Player of the Week honor for her Willie Maysesque play in the outfield. She made multiple clutch catches with runners on base and her team holding onto a lead. No catch was bigger than her final one. We Got The Runs came into the bottom of the seventh with a 6 run lead hoping to hold on. After giving up 4 runs, with 2 runner on base and 2 outs, the kicker crushed a ball to right field that looked like it would at least tie the game. Megan had other plans! Tracking the ball perfectly, she made an amazing over the shoulder catch to end the game and send her team to the semi-finals!!
Katie get player of the week for her amazing and rare bunt homerun. After a great bunt down the third baseline, Katie barely beat the throw to first. The throw, unfortunately for her opponent, hit her in the leg and deflected all the way into the right field corner allowing Katie to come all the way around and score a home run for her team! Well done Katie!
