Softballs & Hard Wood

Karen had a big game on Sunday, reaching base each time she came to bat. In Softballs and Hard Wood's big 8 run inning, she drew a big walk after getting to a 3-2 count to extend the inning. In the bottom of the 7th, with her team down 2 runs, she came up with a huge single up the middle to score two runs and tie the game with 2 outs. This set up the game winning run for the next batter.

Will just kept hitting the ball. If there were players on the base or not. Four HR's is good stats for an at bat for the day. He also had a nice out at home. The .08 player was coming home no matter what. The throw was perfect for the third out to be made.

Softballs and Hardwoods really came to play this week led by their POTW 3rd baseman RYAN TOMOKIYO! This guy showed great fundamentals at the plate with a 3 run HR, a triple, a double and 6 RBI'S!!! He also played outstanding defense at third base with many great plays. Good team win guys!!!

To say she was aggressive on the base paths would be an understatement. She reached base with a hit in every at bat and constantly pushed the envelope pressuring her opponents to make plays in the field. That she was thrown out twice is irrelevant to the fact that she ran the bases like her hair was on fire.

Making Progress

The POTW goes out to all of the captains of the league. Every team in the league played competitively and had great attitudes. It's a testament to their ability to bring in the right players and communicate the spirit of Underdog sports. This was a terrific league all season long. Let's hope everyone comes back next season.
