Spring Co-ed Kickball at Ballard Playfield Sundays

Sunday night at Ballard Playfields saved the best for last, with two nail-biters to end the night. Team RAMROD and We've Got The Runs capped off the night with a game that started out with tough D on both sides, but turned into a slugfest by the end. Few runs were scored in the first half of the game, and Diana Jorris made what looked like every play over at 2nd base. Team RAMROD looked like they were pulling away in the end, but the Runs just refused to lose, mounting a huge rally in the bottom of the last inning. with the bases loaded in a tie game, Joe Buchholz took over. Joe lined a ball to the outskirts of the infield that was just a little too hot for the defense to handle, as they missed a play at third, and allowed The Runs to score the walk-off run. Woot woot.

Amber rose to the occasion this week to earn player of the week honors. She led her team with great kicks. She had a game changing kick with two runs scoring on her double. To top it all off, she ended the game with a shoe string or all body catch! The ball roll down her legs and she caught it, barely, by the shoes! Great job Amber!

This weeks player of the week goes to Kris Strickland of Kick Me in the Jimmy! It was Strickland's power at the plate that earned him the honors with back to back to back blasts to right field that made fits for the opposing team. With these deep shots, Strickland was able to touch them all and waltz into home safely racking up lots of RBI's in a one run game! Great job Kris!

Kristen waited for the playoffs to have a breakout and career game! She set the tone all evening with great hustle! She came up with a great kick that confused everyone as they thought she would bunt. The best part of her night, in my humble opinion, was a 3-run big fly! She was the star Sunday night. Great job Kristen!
