In the first semi-final, the Holly G show put up a valiant effort against Kiss My Ashcroft, however fell short by just a few runs.
In the second semi-final game, there were no errors committed by the Master Batters amazing defense. This didn't bode well for Impinj as they couldn't get the ball over around or through the Master Batters defenders.
The third and decisive game wasn't quite as close, 12-0. Normally, when someone hits a ball to right field, they expect to get a hit. This is not the case when Jen Lewis is playing in the field. She caught normal fly balls and sharp line drives, keeping up the great defensive play that won them their first game of the day.
ICHIRO they called her. She scored constantly, ran the bases with ease(and speed) and she just looked sylish in right field. Now all of this being said, you would think that he teammates or a byist person were writing this. That would be untrue. These are comments from opposing players during the playoffs. No one could get a ball by her. She stopped anything that moved and scored an astonishing 90% of the time. I guess if you are going to step it up, the semi final and championship games are the time to do so.
Jeff helped his team to victory over Hard Ten. In a close game Jeff had a 2 run Homerun that put his team ahead for good in a close game. He also made a few great defensive plays. Congrats on being our player of the week.
It was the bottom of the 7th with 2 on and no outs. Mike stepped up to the plate down by 2. With one swing of the bat he belts it over the left field fence for a walk off 3 run homerun. Congrats on being player of the week.
Edgar Martinez???? Nope but he sure hits like him. Mike had 3 doubles and a homerun to help his team to victory. If he keeps this up the Mariners will be knocking at his door. WAY TO GO MIKE.
Amongst the opening day ceremonies of the Lower Woodland Summer league, the Master Batters started the season with two straight wins over Swingers and Hard Ten. Coupled with their own theme music, varying form the Spice Girls "If you wanna be my lover" to Bel Biv Devo's "Poison" to Aqua's "Barbie World," and some great uniforms, the Batters were led by their captain and pitcher, Josh Hartnett, with a pair of stunning performances. In 12 innings, Josh had 3 strike outs, turned four double plays and only had five earned runs and blasted two home runs. While the defense of the batters was sturdy, it was Hartnett's leadership and precise pitching that made the difference. Great job Josh and next week bring some intro music for us all.
