This was the name of the game for Team Airbud in their finals match against Casual sets. Keegan was their star blocker along with Jen keeping Casual Sets' hits playable for their own team or right back on Casual Sets side for them to have to scramble to keep it alive. With a loss in the first game there was no hesitation in giving up and team Air Bud fought back to barely win game 2 and then dominate game 2 with an 11 point lead! Their serves were on point and the team was mixing it up with the hitters keeping Casual Sets guessing and never knowing who to block. While all players really contributed to the comeback win Jen was a superstar in her 6+super digs as well as her 5+ kills to help her team rack up points. Great work Air Bud!
Let's see how many nick names I can come up with for Keegan after watching him play for a season. Long arms for his gargantuan reach while in the air, snapper for his last minute snaps on the ball when he hits it causing it to go straight down when you thought it was out, and finally hang time for his jumps that seem to last forever. Keegan may be more well known for his basketball skills but this season he has become a veteran volleyball player with the championship to prove it! While Keegan "long arms" Rogers may seem like he is still figuring it all out don't let that fool you he has a solid swing and a block from another planet that you can't seem to get through. Great work Keegan and congrats on the championship!
Good court awareness is definitely a skill that takes a lot of practice to acquire and Alexandra showed that she has it in spades! As a setter, court awareness is essential. Alexandra was able to find all the open spots to place the ball whenever there wasn't a good opportunity for the hitters to get a kill, never letting there be a "free ball" over. Alexandra always knew when to pull back off the net for defense when needed and was able to cover open spots that were left unattended. With her great setting and defense, Alexandra helped pull her team to victory!!
