Notes

First Place

Winter Softcore Co-ed Volleyball at First Baptist Thursdays

The first match of the night was so fun to watch! Sorry for Partying has some serious talent but the Wizard Sleeves were ready for a fight. Adam earned P.O.G. this match with kills, back row hits, and to-die-for sets. His team had to work even harder after Kari went down with an injury. They didn't disappoint her, fighting their way to the championship game. The Wizards battled on with awesome teamwork and tough serving. On a side note- Hey Wizard Sleeves- can I get a drink with you guys? You seem like so much fun! The next match put Eliza and her fellow Nerds up against the volleyball addict Gavin and Slap That Pass. The Nerds got their Revenge and won in a quick 2. The championship game went something like this: Nerd Ryan blocks, Partying aces a few. Nerd Eliza serves 6 in a row, Party boy Joby hits so hard no one sees it. Nerd Blake tips and blocks and his feet never touch the ground (at least I can't see it) , Sorry for Partying's girls play amazing defense. Nerds Tim and Sean block some more, Partying Adam sets like he is trying out for AVP. And after all of that- Sorry for Partying wins in a very hard fought 2 sets.

POTW: Joby Titus

Sorry For Partying

A man among men! Joby was chosen by his whole team as player of the game after the championship match. After his teammates stole the clipboard from him so they could write his name down I noticed how surprised he was. Did he not see all his blocking tonight? Was he not the one attacking with perfect form? Why the look of shock? He earned it- great defense, helping out the setters when they needed it and being an all around great leader. Underdog salutes you Joby! Enjoy the spoils of victory and a strong drink on us.

Thursday, February 11

POTW: Kari Wuotila

Sorry For Partying

Kari's serving was phenomenal tonight! Ace after ace came over the net, and she did it with the greatest of ease! In the front row she was an intimidating opponent, kept her spirits high, and her jumps higher for some great hits, and encouraged her team throughout the match. Excellent playing!

Thursday, January 28

POTW: Adam Leong

Sorry For Partying

Great passing from his team led to fantastic setting and hitting on Adamn's part! The entire team played a strong match against Wizard Sleeves, but Adam in particular had some unstoppable kills. His sets left his teammates with the opportunity to kill the ball themselves, and his passing was spot on. Great all around playing!

POTW: Adam Leong

Sorry For Partying

Adam was phenomenal this week. He spiked the ball so hard I was scared from where I was sitting. Adam was cheery the whole night, smiling and laughing, which helped lift the mood of the whole room. Adam also had fabulous, hard serves and great court coverage. He was all over the floor, going for each and every ball. Adam is someone to watch out for for the rest of the season. Keep your eyes out for him!
