The first game started off fairly evenly matched, with Murphy's Team keeping up with Tip 2 Tip. The champ team started pulling ahead, however, and Murphy's team didn't have a chance to catch up because Shannon served out the rest of the game. Her spectacular serving streak ended the game at 25-12.
The second game started and Murphy's Team was ready for a rematch. With Sarah setting, Jon and Eric were both able to be at the top of their hitting game. But a short serving streak at the beginning of the game by Tip 2 Tip's Adam, followed by more great serving by Becky and Shannon, Tip 2 Tip widened their lead to 18-12. Tip 2 Tip's Eric was on top of his game with some huge blocking and great hitting.
On the other side of the net, kills by Jon then Eric, and a missed serve on the Tip 2 Tip team brought the scores closer together. But despite Murphy's Team nipping at their heels, Tip 2 Tip never let them ahead - Eric had another big kill, and Sean put the ball down to finish off the game at 25-23. A great game from both teams!

Eric's play in the first match of the night was awesome, especially his front row. His blocking and hitting were right on, showing the Indy team just what he was made of. In the championship match he continued his great playing with more kills and great passing and serving. His team took advantage of his "on" night and expertly set up plays so that he could smash the ball onto the other side of the net!
Standing at the net across from Sean, he looms over and you pray that he won't jump up to smash the ball in your face. But it's not just his height that makes him a formidable opponent! His smart ball placement and tipping skills cause frustration on the opposite side of the net - you have to be on your toes and ready for anything when you're up against Sean!
