The participators game into the day with the goal of a championship and with some hard work and great softball made that dream a reality. They kept focused through a solid semifinals and carried that same energy into the championship game.
The team that they defeated in the championship game was no easy feat but the participators always seemed to find an open hole in the defense to hit the ball to and consistently drive in runs to secure a victory.
In an epic see-saw battle at Greenlake Fields on Sunday Matthew proved to be the difference with a homerun earlier in the game and then by scoring the game winning run in the bottom of the 7th on a bang-bang play at the plate to complete the walk-off and retake the lead after a furious comeback by the Stranger Danger team. Entering the bottom of the 7th down a run, Matthew came Blazing in from third to beat the throw to the plate and score the game winner with 2 outs. Nice work Matthew.
