Underdog Kickball: Where Amazing Happens!
Another fantastic finish to a great season! After Mr. Yuk bested Off In A Corner in their early game and Inflated Egos received a free pass to the championship game due to a forfeit by the Sandbaggers, the two met for a winner take all final.

It looked like all Mr. Yuk early and often, as they slowly and steadily worked their way to a 5-1 lead. But Inflated Egos started to show signs of life in the bottom of the 5th inning, adding one run, then another couple in the 6th, and finally tying it in the bottom of the 7th.

We were going to extra innings.

Each team made use of their bonus base runner in the 8th and tacked on a run, but some good defense limited the damage on both sides and neither team could pull away.

The stakes were raised again in the 9th with yet another base runner added to the mix. Mr. Yuk was able to load the bases in the top half with no outs, but couldn't bring in any runs due to Inflated Egos' stellar defense. When the tables were turned in the bottom half, Mr. Yuk couldn't hold and the game was decided with an infield single bringing in the winning run. The Inflated Egos took it 7-6 in the bottom of the 9th! WOW!

Congratulations to both teams on a hard fought game and to Inflated Balls and Deflated Egos for their stunning come from behind win!

POTW: Naveed Mastan

Inflated Balls and Deflated Egos

Naveed was playing first base this week. Team Awesome and and Inflated Balls were close in runs up to the 4th inning. In the 4th, Naveed made all 3 outs and the no run inning. The most impressive play came with one runner on first. The ball was kicked just off the ground toward Naveed. He made a beautiful play by grabbing the ball just after it bounced, tagging the runner on first and then stepping on first base to make a solo double play.
