Spring Co-ed Kickball at Ballard Boys & Girls Club Sundays

After pulling her quad in warmup, Amy sucked up the pain and played through it.
She winced and wailed as each step presumably tore her quadriceps a little more each time. But it was all for the game. Amy put together a great game despite the injuries.
She was fearless on defense, and gave it her all every time she kicked. A true Underdog...

Off in a corner brought their usual brightness and luster to the field last Sunday. Among them was a bright young woman named Robin who had a big heart. The bottom of the 6th inning came up, with Off in a Corner far behind in the score and now playing for pride. Then came a massive kick. A deep towering fly ball to which few have seen at the Boys and Girls Club in Ballard. Robin wasn't phased a bit. She was going to show the kickball gods a thing or two. She stared down that ball first left then right, it looked as if it would fly over her head! But then it beelined right for her. She threw up her hands and screamed at the top of her lungs NOT THIS TIME! Then with everything she had she caught it!! The crowd roared.

Chris was a rock star outfielder. Playing down 3 players to a tough opponent, the Naked Hood Rats looked to their super rookie, Chris Calvin to style, entertain, and fun!
Chris' area of the outfield to cover on defense was literally everything right of 2nd base.
He came out of nowhere time after time to rob Callahan bomb shots. On offense he played a role in killing the goose egg, no shutout! He even stuck around to help out the Sexy Pitches, again playing solid outfield and consistent kicking.

Janaira Wargin had all the right moves Sunday afternoon, and the swagger to go with it. It wasn't enough for Janaira to just believe her team was going to win the championship, though, she backed it up with stellar play. She displayed great defense at first, including one tripping, er, excuse me, DIVING catch. On offense, although a bit eager at the plate, she showed a great diversity in her kicks, able to lay down a quality bunt, or bloop it into the outfield. In the end, her teammates vote was unanimous and Janaira was crowned the championship POG
