In a game where defense was king, Jeff led the charge for Liquor balls. Since his team was short handed, Jeff had to cover virtually all of outfield. Not an easy task, but one Jeff did with ease. He was getting great jumps on fly balls and caught nearly all the plays put into play. What an impressive debut for this kickball rookie. Great job Jeff!!

Paul F puts on a defensive clinic
The Saints may have lost the game, but they did in an excellent fashion. The score was 2-1 against them, but they had a 7 person team. Paul F was kicking outs to first, faking out runners, and directing double plays. Since he played like he was the three players he was missing, he is our player of the week. He did all this with a great attitude and while being attentive to his child on the sideline. Thanks for making the game fun and putting on a show Paul! Great job to both Sit on my Base and Saints for a spectacular opening day game!
In a back and forth battle where no lead was safe, Alicia provided the blast that would be the final nail in the coffin. With her team up by 1 in the 5th, Alicia pulled back and cranked a ball over the left fielders head. After running around the bases, Alicia ended up with a no doubt about it 2 run home run. Her home run would give Sit on My Base enough of a lead to hold on for the victory. All future teams have been put on notice of Alicia's power and won't dare play shallow.

Move Pitch, Get Out The Way!
The game had been close the whole way, with Move Pitch! holding onto a very tight 1-0 lead up until the 6th inning. The game would end up all tied going into the bottom of the 7th. Dan had taken several shots at the RF fence throughout the game and was able to come up with a big shot over the fence for a walk-off HR.

In perhaps an Underdog first, Luke T crushed 3 over the fence home runs and kicked in 11 runs total to earn this week's Player of the Week award. Luke also contributed on the defensive side, pitching the first 5 innings, catching a couple of screaming line drives and even contributing a kick-assist to first on a well placed bunt. Congrats Luke and the Saints!

Jordan Comar- Player of the Week
Saints
Jordan C did it all on Tuesday to earn this week's Player of the Week award. He showed up a casual 5 minutes after the game was supposed to start, crushed a huge HR to start his team's scoring, made a couple of real nice defensive plays in Left, and did I mention just being an overall great guy? The Saints had a few worthy contenders, including someone who did a handstand after fouling out, but Jordan takes the cake this week. Congrats!

Sammi Santini - Player of the Week
Liquor Balls
After a rough first two innings, pitcher Sammi Santini put up a masterful performance leading her team to a comeback victory. Liquor Balls trailed 6-0 after 2 innings, but thanks in part to to strong defense, Santini did not give up a run over the final 5 frames. Liquor Balls picked it up at the plate over the 2nd half of the game, finally taking the lead in the 6th and never looking back.

Sean was roaming right field making several key catches but what earned him player of the week was his ability to fly over the fence and retrieve foul balls repeatedly. Seemed like every other kick headed his way which ended up being quite a workout. On offense, Sean had a key run scored and RBI in what ended up a one-run game. Thanks for the effort!

Saints stay true to their name
The jumped out to an early 9-0 nothing lead. Even though the game was pretty one sides from the beginning they never were in your face about it. They kept great sportsmanship. When asked about the game one player said we just want to keep the game fun.
Move pitch displayed excellent sportsmanship. They never trashed talked. They always gave compliments to the other team even when they were down. They kept their cool when times were rough. They kept the game fun.
During the Tuesday night games, a woman sitting in the park chose to watch and cheer along the kickball teams. With undying enthusiasm, Shae rooted along various players and plays. Because of the smile she put on everyone's face that night, Shae is our player of the Week.
