Bolas Grandes , Completely Off Base, Happy Hour Heroes (H^3), Midget Assassins
POTW: Stacy Lewis
Learning Curve
Knocked down but not knocked out, Stacy was the player of the week for her gutsy play at homeplate (even though yes the guy was safe) in inspiring Learning Curve to their first victory of the season on opening day. Nice work Stacy!
Dazey's Dukes, Learning Curve, Red Ball & Vodka, Zest in the Drizzle
POTW: Ty Goodman
Completely Off Base
A virtual offensive juggernaut, Ty was the hammer.
I think the final count was 3 homeruns, solid "D", and a plethora of RKI's (runs kicked in).
Ty guided his team to a win in their 3-peat campaign...
Completely Off Base, Happy Hour Heroes (H^3), Midget Assassins, Zest in the Drizzle
POTW: Dina Campion
Learning Curve
Dina Campion of Learning Curve earned POTW by beating out three bunts, including one where she didn't stop running until she was finally pegged a few feet away from home plate. She also had two amazing pop-fly catches around the outer infield circle.
Bolas Grandes , Dazey's Dukes, Learning Curve, Red Ball & Vodka
POTW: Sylvia Roh
Zest in the Drizzle
It's not often we find a catcher taking POTW honors, but Sylvia Roh had the goods Wednesday evening in the U-district. Besides a few great plays at home plate to stop runs from scoring, Sylvia herself could not be gotten out, due to her impressive "outside-in" bunting style and great speed on the base paths. Good job, Sylvia.
Bolas Grandes , Learning Curve, Midget Assassins, Red Ball & Vodka
POTW: Wendy Champagne
Completely Off Base
Wendy made a spectacular catch in the bottom of the seventh inning in center field and then made the throw to second base to get the runner out. This double play kept the opposing team, Zest in the Drizzle, from winning. The game ended in a tie.
Playoffs Begin 7/25, ALL Teams will play either a playoff game or an exhibition game.

Exhibition Games:

Dazey's Dukes vs. Bolas Grandes
POTW: Kim Faulkner
Midget Assassins
In a very close playoff game that saw the Midget Assassins fall behind 7-1 in the third, Kim rallied her team to victory. The Assassins chipped away at the lead in the 4th and 5th and exploded with 5 runs in the 6th to take a 9-7 lead.
Kim scored the go-ahead run after a sliding safely into second and home. The victory wasn't earned without some battle scars as Kim had a baseball-sized strawberry (or raspberry as some of you call it) on the back of her thigh.
On the defensive side Kim recorded several outs playing first base. Three of these plays were quite close, and one was a killshot that beat the baserunner.
Since this award can only go to one player, Enoch Lish gets to carry home the hardware. He pitched a complete game shutout in the championship game, which is certainly no small feat.
His teammates should share the award as they backed up his pitching with great team defense. No pitcher can earn a shutout without help for the supporting cast.
