Most teams would be happy with the impressive season Dirty Mike and the Boys had. They were well balanced on offense and defense all year long and earned the #2 spot in the playoffs. But they wanted more.
In their semifinal game against the Ninja Turtles, they played a hard fought game that they squeaked by with a 1 run victory. Thanks in large part to the exceptional defense by Adrian Warness.
In the finals, they faced top seeded Afternoon Delight who defeated Dirty Mike and the Boys in an early season contest. Led by the great hitting of Michael Rupp, Dirty Mike and the Boys got revenge for that earlier defeat and brought the championship home with a hard fought victory. Congrats on the huge playoff run and for your championship season!

After a strong regular season, the Sluggernauts felt good about their chances in the playoffs especially after grabbing the #1 seed. But their road to the title wouldn't be so easy.
In their semifinal against Pitch Slap, the Sluggernauts lost the lead they held most of the game and needed a furious rally to survive. Erik Yager's walkoff 2 run hit in the bottom of the 7th, sent them to the finals by the narrowest of margins.
In the finals they would face the Lemons, whom they had lost to just a week earlier. The Sluggernauts built up a lead behind the glove, bat and leadership of captain Jansen Dustin. In the 7th inning they had to fight off a late charge by the Lemons, but they hung on and secured the victory. What a fantastic season by the Sluggernauts and its was well rewarded with a championship!!
