Winter Midcore Volleyball at First Baptist Wednesdays

Watch out folks we got some prime talent on our hands. This week the crowd was in for a treat. Alan was not only an offensive weapon but was a blocking and digging machine. He helped lead his team, the shankapotami (plural) to a sweet 3-0 victory this week. When he jumps up to spike a ball it's a scary sight....rumor has it that Lebron James called him up for a few volleyball tips. A positive teammate and all out hustler, Lung is a major impact on his team. Way to go Alan. Keep up the good work!

Even though his teammates gave him a hard time for his net violations, they can be proud of the all out effort Mike put on in tonight's game. Mike was all over the court blocking and digging balls left and right. Every time he attacked the ball he would hit it so hard the ground would cry. Before the night was over his opponents were ducking for cover. Way to be an all star Mike. Keep it up!

The Player of the Week comes from team Shazam, Greg H. According to his teammates, Greg "was on fire" (to the melody of Alicia Key's "Girl on Fire"). Greg helped his team to a 2-1 victory over opposing team Indy 5. His sizzling serves, inferno blocks, heated digs, and hits Greg was a wildfire on the court! It doesn't seem like anybody will be able to extinguish this player of the week any time soon!!

This weeks we have two POTW nominees from Ugly Bumpers, Jeff and Mandi! The match up between Ugly Bumpers and Shankopotamus a tough one, with the final winner being determined in the the 3rd set. Jeff brought with him awesome attacks and offense as well as great defense in his blocking. Mandi was an all around great player and contributed with her passing, serving, and setting.
