Early Spring Co-ed Softball on Capitol Hill Tuesdays/Thursdays

Andrew is player of the week this week by means of his epic last-inning walk-off triple to beat the Seawalks in his opening night game with The Beerleaguered. While pressure might have gotten to a lesser man, Andrew stood tall with 2 on in the 7th, and blasted a ball to deep left center field that had no doubt about the 2 runs needed to win the game.
Andrew rode that high into his teams second game, and produced some other valuable hits to help his club go 2-2 on the night in the win column.

There have been many great catches over the years that have earned the title of ”The Catch”. Montana to Walsh in football, Willie Mays in baseball. Nick’s catch tonight deserves no less praise. The ball was arcing down the line over him and away from him, when he reached out against his body while simultaneously diving into the air. While he was half-rolling and cartwheeling the ball found his glove For the spectacular out. The play and player of the week.

Michelle and the squad from Random Collision played a pair of games today and she was able to block out the early game distractions and dial in to smash three hits at the plate and make a game saving catch in the field to win game one. And in game two she came out and slugged three more hits. Hats off to Michelle and the rest of the Random Collision.

Lindsay had an awesome game today for the Seawalks. She featured heavily in the second games, hitting a very important (and long) home run, and going 4-4. This is all even more impressive, in that she is coming off an injury and just making her way back. What a way to do it, with a dominant performance at the plate, and it's earned player of the week.

Tucker Donkin had an amazing pair of games for Random Collision, showing off his amazing speed and agility tracking down catches all over the park. Shallow bloopers that seemed out of reach were converted into diving outs through the speed of Donkin, who must have caught at least 8 balls. His strong defensive play and hustle were critical in advancing Random Collision through to day two of the playoffs.
