Champs & Friends!

Intersting fact: Over a year ago, Chao and Friends originally wanted to be named the Alkiholics - the name was already taken so the office named them Chao and Friends. Fast forward to last night's championship game where they played against the very team that secured that team name before they could- the Alkiholics. #TRUESTORY

Court three couldn't helped but be noticed - there was a hoopla during the championship game. The Alkiholics came with a strategy - (friendly) hecklers! The fan club roared with good plays and tried to distract Chao and Friends. Game one went to Alkiholics - seemed that their plan was working... until game 2 when Chao and Friends rallied after a strategic time out and secured a game 3. Strong serves, solid tunes on the stereo, and finessed skill shots all around. When the sand settled Chao and Friends took the title.

Aptly named, Chao and Friends extended an invitation to the Alkiholics to join them for the champions photo. What a great moment seeing the teams mix and fans come together as the sun set.

Congrats Chao and Friends!

Finishing Strong

Ballz On came into playoffs with a first round by - having earned the top seed, they dominated the preseason. One game away, just on the cusp of the elusive perfect season... could Ballz On pull it off?

Going head to head with Ballz On was One Last Bump. Having been the 3 seed, they took a longer road to get to the 'ship. But they made it. A formidable opponent. This was the first time these two teams played this season - it was a battle of the blues (navy vs. sky).

With the sun setting, we saw long rallies - heard great communication - and felt the camaraderie. Court two had the tunes bumpin' and a crowd full of.. dogs! Ballz On brought their furry fan club. One Last Bump, well they needed a few more solid ones to take the match. Ball On swept the match and earned the title - champs. (I think their constant calls of random pop culture references may have thrown/distracted One Last Bump - solid strategy.)

Ballz On summarizes the season as really fun, dog-friendly, and sandy. This was their first beach season together and they will be back next year.
Congrats!

  BEAST

Unleashed

BEAST - the 2 seed - strung together victory after victory during the regular season. They have a reputation of being a formidable opponent - each player skilled and capable. The Goonies, the one seed, had their work cut out for them. The championship match would be the first time these teams met all season.

The completion was close. Splitting the first two games, everything came down to game three. Calm, composed, and competitive - just three words that could be used to describe both teams. In the end, BEAST took the title.

This successful season was not always smooth sailing - the lack of subs, wind, and second hand smoke (thanks Canada) all were obstacles to overcome. The positive attitude from BEAST's players prevailed, and even caught the eye of the field admin earlier in the season (player of the week Jeraldine!).
Congrats on the title and see you next season!
