Grace Pratt of the new Indy team takes home the opening weeks honors of Player of the Week for the Tuesday night Ballard league! Voted Player of the Game by her teammates, Grace showed more than just grace out on the court. Her killer serves, hustle to dig tips, and leadership helped the Indy team take home a 3-0 win. The Congrats to Grace and the Indy team!
Sarah of Spike Place Market takes home this weeks Player of the Week honors! Although they didn't quite pull out two wins, Sarah had a great performance and did lead the team to win 1 game against Those Cool Guys. Her strong serves and hitting were difficult to defend and she remained consistent all night. Great job Sarah!
Congratulations Will Goede! While learning how to dive may have earned you the votes from your team for Player of the Game, your digs and hitting earned you the Player of the Week award! The Indy team proved to be a very tough competitor with strong blockers. You strategically and skillfully hit around them helping your team take a 2 to 1 win over the Indy team. Congratulations!
Thais takes home this weeks honors of leading her team to a 5-1 Win for their double header week. After losing their first game 30-28, Thais helped re-organize the line-up and the defense which ended up making the difference between those last few points against the Indy team. Aside from her strategic leadership, her setting, tips, and hits also helped her lead her team to a double victory! Congratulations Thais!
Michelle Williford from A Bunch of Randoms is this weeks Player of the Week! Her fundamental volleyball skills really shone through tonight and helped her team win a tough match against Those Cool Guys. Her form and aim in hitting was spot on. POTW: James Byrne
Indy #1
It is no surprise that this weeks Player of the Week comes to us from the Indy team. James Byrne led his team to win both the 6:30 and 7:30 games last night solidifying the Indy team a spot in the 2nd round of the tournament next week to play for one of the top 3 spots. He is really a standout player in all areas of the court. While his hitting is very strong, he knows how to read the other team and dink into the open holes in the defense. His passing and defense abilities are just as strong though and he really had a great night! Congratulations James!!
Morgan Olson of the Indy Team and also the tournament champions takes home this weeks honor of player of the game. As the teams setter she took a leadership role all season and helped set the pace and plays of the whole team. She rarely misses a 2nd ball and is super quick to call for help if there was ever an off pass. Not only did she seem to always get to the 2nd ball, but she was consistent in making great plays with it. Whether it was a perfect set across the court or a strategically placed tip, it was clear that she was playing hard and smart and I think she was absolutely key in helping her team bring home the Championship title!
