POTW: Jeff Allen
POTW: Jeff Allen
Indy #1
That's one hell of a first impression. In a league where more teams seem to be racing for the two coveted 9-pin No Tap spots at the end of the season, the new Indy team came out with a bang, led by Jeff. Jeff came out swinging with seven straight strikes, putting the whole league on notice, before settling into a final score of a capped 205. His second game was a bit more pedestrian, but the Indy team now has everyone's attention. Can they keep it up for six weeks? Stay tuned.

Secret Double Probation
Brian lit up the scoreboard last night. Taking on the upstart Indy team, Double Secret Probation knew they would need a big game to pull off the upset. And they got it from Brian. In his two games (a 173 and 205), he racked up 13 strikes and left only four frames open. Very impressive!

In Your Pants
There were a few candidates for POTW this week: Chris led Team Sven to a win over Slam Pieces (and more importantly, her brother), and Jeff led the Indy team rolling a 185 LEFT HANDED. But there was really only one choice for POTW this week. You can hear Bubba's voice from a mile away. Loud, boisterous, and full of energy, he energizes not only his team, but every team around him. There might be better bowlers, and better teams, but I'd dare say few teams have more fun than In Your Pants.

Slam Pieces to Pin Town
It's often been said that the spots most coveted in our league are not the playoff spots, but the infinitely more fun Nine-Pin No Tap spots reserved for playoff week. This season, we only have six teams, but four playoff spots, so the competition for the two coveted spots are tight. Luckily, the two teams in contention are fantastically good sports about the whole thing. Despite only racking up 1 Statdog point, Ryan and his team, Slam Pieces to Pin Town, are in good spirits, both with their team, and the team they're going up against. And good sportsmanship always wins in my book.

POTW: Christine Nancarrow
POTW: Christine Nancarrow
Team Sven
It was a night of personal bests at Big Turkey Bowling last night. Chris of Secret Double Probation nailed a 201 in their win over A&C, for instance. But none were more impressive than Christine's, who set a personal best with a 193, and then followed it up with a 168 in a win over Pho Kit.

In Your Pants
While Secret Double was running the table on the top end of the standings, another lovable group of scamps ran the table at the other end. In Your Pants managed to go the entire season without a win, but to hear them tell it, that was almost besides the point. Clad in their luchadore masks and never far from their basket of tabbies, Bubba and the gang stayed to the very end, and had more fun than anyone else in the joint.
