Spring Co-ed Softball at Paramount Sundays

For those who stuck around for the nightcap game between R-Matey's and Here for the Beer witnessed superman. Superman's real name is Steve Morency. Steve started in Right Center and made some nice catches, few innings later he is in left center and another nice catch on the run (fly). Then the last inning came and a shot down the line and out of no where Steve comes flying in parallel to the ground with the most incredible catch either team has ever witnessed. When all the dust clears, all anyone could do is tip their cap to Superman aka Steve Morency. Great job out there!!

Harry Arsene was complete animal vs. Kate's Pub on Sunday. He went 3 for 4 with 3 deep bombs and 4 runs batted in. Also displayed awesome glovesmanship helping hold Kate's Pub to a total of 6 runs for the game.

Ruth McKinnie legged out a key infield base hit to start a 7th inning rally that propelled R-Mateys to a 12-10 victory over the Evil Tangents. With R-Matey's trailing 10-8 entering the top of the 7th, Ruth led off with a ground ball to the right side of the infield, she was able to hustle down the line for a hit. A number of hits later and R-Matey's had turned a 2 run deficit into a 2 run lead. They were able to hold on the bottom of the frame for the win. Great hustle Ruth!

Jenna entered the game pitching, throwing strikes and not giving Ground Rule Trouble a lot of chances for walks. Her strike to ball ratio was about 7 to 1 and pitched an absolute gem until the 6th inning when she was replaced and went to 2nd base. She batted 3 for 3 with 1 double and 2 singles and drove in 2 of the 11 runs scores during the day.

Geoff came up huge at the plate for Afternoon Delight during both games on Sunday helping Afternoon Delight secure a spot in the championship game. Geoff went a combined 6 for 7 for both games and drove in 7 of the 18 runs scored on the day by Afternoon Delight. Hats off to Geoff White aka Mr. "LA" for fine performance in both games.
