Barracudas Continue To Dominate

Team Scores 36 Runs Over 5 Innings

The Blue Barracudas just keep on rolling on. On Wednesday night they faced off with the Stampeding Manatees and from the start they established their dominance in a big way with 12 runs right off the bat. The Manatees put up a great fight and never gave up, responding in the 5th inning with 8 runs of their own. In the end the Barracudas had just too much fire power and rolled to a 36 to 12 victory. Led by Kristine Cortez who continues to shine for the Barracudas, batted 4 for 5 with 2 inside the park Hrs, a triple and a double. Not to mention her gold glove work in the outfield. The Barracudas are rolling and they don't seem to be stopping anytime soon. See you guys in the playoffs.

Barracudas Knock Off Power House No Pants Party

Krisitne Cortez Leads The Charge

Facing off on Wednesday night were two teams. Two teams who formed at different times and whose game experience in USL in terms of seasons played together as a team is different by far. No Pants Party has ruled the USL fall leagues for years and for the first time since I have been with this team, they are being challenged by a much stronger and younger lion who is eager to take its place at the top on the throne. That young lion is the Blue Barracudas. This team plays hard, they play smart and when their bats get going it usually means trouble for the opposing team. Their pitching is solid, their defense can frustrate the best teams and their energy level is unmatched. On Wednesday night they handed No Pants Party a 6 run loss holding them scoreless in innings three through five playing solid defense lead by the gold glove of Kristine Cortez in left field. No Pants Party responded late with a four run 6th to move within 3 runs going into the top of the 7th. After ripping off 5 much needed insurance runs the Barracudas held strong in the bottom half giving up only two runs and sealing a hard earned victory. This team is real and all comers bring your A game. Great game Kristine and great win Barracudas!

morgan Skinner

Blue Barracudas

Late in the game, needing a home run to hit for the cycle, (teammates were no help, using up all 3 home runs earlier in the game) Morgan sent a shot into right center and let his speed do the rest. Motoring around the bases to touch home just before the tag. Nice work Morgan. ALSO OF NOTE: The game ended on a triple play. Runners on 1st and 3rd. Hard grounder up the middle. Shortstop snags it, steps on second, fires to first and then on to home with a nice tag out at the plate. We'll played!

Blue Barracudas Hold Off Kate's Pub

Morgan Skinner Goes Yard Twice

The Blue Barracudas are starting to gain some traction and are looking like the team to beat in this league. There are three other power house teams in this league and even they would have a very hard time with the Blue Barracudas. This team can hit, they can run and they are fundamentally sound on defense which gives them a huge advantage against less talented teams. They were locked into a battle against power house Kate's Pub Wednesday night and came out on top by getting the bats going late and playing lock down defense in the late innings when they needed to. Morgan just simply went bananas at the plate. He accounted for 9 of the 16 runs by smashing two deep bases clearing bombs and adding a triple and double while scoring 3 runs. League teams beware. The Blue Barracudas are for real!!
