Notes

First Place

Spring Kickball at Ballard Playfield Sundays

Having split the season series one game apiece, Cajones and Supercalifornia Pants looked to settle the score once and for all in the hardcore championship game. Both teams came out firing and exchanged early runs. Cajones leadoff man Joe Ferrara got on with a walk and scored in the first. But Supercalifornia Pants would not be denied. Pitcher Doug Orwiler set the tone early with a spectacular head first slide into home plate, and the Pants quickly took the lead. It seemed that every inning they threatened with runners on, and in the end pushed 9 runs across. On the other side of the ball, Orwiler used a devastating curve to keep Cajones kickers guessing. His defense backed him up and when the final ball was kicked, it was Supercalifornia Pants who stood on top with a 9-2 victory.

Sunday, May 18

POTW: Doug Orwiler

Supercalifornia Pants

Orwiler did everything his team could ask for on Sunday. He sparked the offense early with a great head first slide into home, and pitched a complete game, holding the opponents to only 2 runs. Behind his leadership the Supercalifornia Pants were able to take home the championship.
