The Bad News Bears Squared off with Random Collision for the league title on Wednesday night on Capital Hill. The Bears got off to a hot start ripping off 7 runs and putting Random Collision on their heels and playing catch up throughout the night. They used a combination of batting, base running and taking advantage of walks and unforced errors to give themselves a cushion through the middle innings. Random Collision managed to score 3 runs in the 4th and 5th innings but it wasn't enough late as the Bears locked it down on defense and held Random Collision scoreless the last 2 innings. Great team win and congratulations on yet another league title.
When playoffs come around, only the best of the best are able to keep playing, and today Cheyanne proved why she belonged by going 3-4 with a single, double, and triple. In fact, she was due up in the seventh inning with a chance to go for a cycle, but because her team was the home team and winning after the top of the 7th, she didn't get her chance to go for a home run. Awesome game today Cheyanne, and keep up the good work.
Lisa was absolutely on fire at the plate on Wednesday night. She batted 5 for 5 with a HR, a triple, 2 doubles and a single. She also batted in 3 runs and scored 3 runs. Great game Lisa!
