Notes

First Place

Early Summer Midcore Beach Volleyball at Golden Gardens Mondays

This match was insanely close, but The Berestain Bears presented all of their best strengths and rose to the top as our Midcore 1 Champions! Their journey to victory was not easy, for they had a triple-header of games tonight. After dominating their first two, they were ready to fight for their third and final win. Their opponents were also faced with a triple-header, and both teams played their hearts out in the final sets. The first set was back and fourth, with The Berenstain Bears hit sharp cross court hits and pushed the ball to open spots in the deep court. Their opponent’s hitting placement was spot-on, and that managed to push them ahead for the first win. In the second set, the competition kicked up several notches. Save after jaw-dropping save, players were making a touch here and a knuckle punch there as the Berenstain Bears snatched the second set win. Exhausted but persistent, the bears continued to push by using superb communication and consistent techniques. With great spirit, The Berenstain Bears sealed their win for the match and emerged victorious. Congratulations to our Midcore 1 Champions!

Notorious D.I.G. conquered the Midcore 2 playoffs! The championship was their second match of the night on this sunny and hot evening, but not even the weather could keep this team from victory. Pumped up from their previous match, Notorious D.I.G. was hungry for first place. Both teams started off strong in the first set, showing off all of their best assets. Notorious had excellent digs in response to their opponent’s strong swings, and swung back with equivalent strength. A few knuckle saves and killer float serves allowed their opponent to steal the first win. The second set went down to the wire, as Notorious D.I.G. started to place their hits better and make better passes for their setter to set up a more powerful offense. With both teams each having a win under their belts, the battle for victory was won by the team with more stamina and consistency. Notorious D.I.G. rose to the challenge, and at the most opportune moment they began to change up their hits and dive just a little further. The set came to a close, and Notorious D.I.G. were the reigning champions. Congratulations to our Midcore 2 Champions!

Michael & His Magnificent Hits

The Berenstain Bears

This guy could hit like you wouldn’t believe! The Berenstain Bears would set him on the outside and Michael would cut a hard angle straight down on his opponent’s side. There was no returning Michael’s hits! Not only were his hits godlike, but his passes were perfect nearly every time. He popped up some massive saves one would deem impossible. Fantastic playing all-around by Michael! His team wouldn’t have dominated three straight games in a row without him. Congratulations to our player of the week!
