Fall Co-ed Softball at Lower Woodlands Thursdays

It was the Brandon Byhre show on Thursday night at Lower Woodlands with Byhre smoking hits all over the field throughout the night. Byhre sealed the game with bases-loaded shot over the left field fence, shifting his RBI total up to give for the night, and also making him perfect at the plate, 3-3 with walk. Stellar game Brandon!

Tasha may have been the smallest player on the field, but she definitely had the biggest heart. It happened in a flash; the ball left her hand and instantly a laser shot off the bat hit up the middle impacted squarely on her kneecap. Tasha still had the presence of mind to collect herself, find the ball, and make a throw to first base, just barely missing the runner. She then collapsed into agony...the overwhelming pain palpable on her face. She had to be helped off the field, but she was not one to make excuses. While she couldn't pitch anymore, she amazingly came up to bat two innings later. Whereas most softball players would simply bow out, her grit and determination carried her to home plate and a few pitches later allowed her to make contact and reach base. And once on the bag, she brazenly refused a courtesy runner. Tasha Mitchell is not only the Player of the Week, but the toughest player in the league.

Amy Hoffman has been names player of the week because of her outstanding defense and stellar batting. She consistently delivered when her team needed her to and watching her play was quite a treat.
