Evil Tangents
Dennis not only hit for the cycle today, hustling to expend a single to a double, he also pitched very well. The Dunder Mifflin bats couldn't get to him through the first 4 innings, as he faced the minimum (12 batters) through those four innings.

POTW: Sal Collora
Cisco Softball
Led by Sal Collora's pitching and some timely hitting, Cisco Softball gutted out a 9-5 win over the Ribid Tree Squirrels. Collera had only 3 walks, one intentional, and recorded 3 strikeouts in a outstanding hurling performance. Sal also came up with some timely hits in Cisco's 4 run 1st inning and the 3 run 2nd inning. Though Cisco was only able to plate two more runs the remainder of the game, the Rabid Tree Squirrels were unable to mount a sustained rally. The win moves Cisco Softball within a game of the league leading Hit it & Quit it and the Evil Tangents who both sport 3-0 records.

Evil Tangents
In a thrilling final game to a exciting day of softball on the Eastside, Dennis Feliciano led the Evil Tangents to a minor upset of undefeated Hit It and Quit It.

Dennis went 3 for 5, scored two key runs and also had a sliding catch in foul territory that killed a potential rally. In a fast paced game, Hit it and Quit it held a precarious 2 run lead after 3 1/2 innings, the Evil Tangents then scored 3 in the bottom of the 4th to take a one run lead. Hit it came right back in the 5th with two runs to regain the lead only to see the Tangents score 3 in the bottom of the frame and 3 more in the 6th inning. Feliciano made his spectacular catch in left fields foul territory, which managed to kill Hit it's chance for late inning rally. The game was one of the best played games of the young season and featured excellent defense from both teams. I look forward to seeing these two teams hook up later in the season or in the playoffs.

Dunder Mifflin
Dunder Mifflin was very cooperative with their first opponent because the other team was very inexperienced and took a very long time. Dunder Mifflin did not complain and offered their help when possible. Paul Churchill was one of those helpful players and was kind to everyone. Paul was also a very good softball player both on defense and offense. He hit an over the fence home run which would still be going if the trees were not there. He was a solid player and showed great sportsmanship.

POTW: Ian Maher
POTW: Ian Maher
Hit it and quit it
After struggling through nearly two games, Ian Maher redeemed himself by hitting a game tying 2 run homer to lead Hit it & Quit it to a come from behind victory. Maher went hitless in the first game of the doubleheader and then misjudged a fly ball in the 2nd game that led to 2 runs and the lead for Weapons of @$$ Destruction. But Ian showed great poise and guts by coming through in the bottom of the 7th with the clutch 2 run homer.
In one of the best played games of the year at Odle Middle School, the score was tied 1-1 through 5 innings. Weapons squeezed two runs over in the top of the 6th to take a 3-1 lead. After Hit it & Quit it went meekly in the bottom of the frame, Weapons wasn't able to tack on any insurance runs in the top of the 7th, leading to Maher's heriocs with 1 out. Then with the game tied, Hit it & Quit it strung together 3 more hits that pushed the winning runs across.
