Summer Co-ed Kickball at Ballard Boys & Girls Club Mon/Wed

Caitlyn pitched great and was solid on defense throughout the game. However, her offense was spectacular, earning her player of the week recognition. She had an RBI and run scored in the 2nd, another RBI in the 3rd and another run scored in the 5th. Her bunts were precise and even when kicking into an out was able to advance runners and help her team get that opening day victory.

It was a real barn burner out there tonight at the ballard boys and girls club. The Violent chubbies took an early 9-0 lead in the 1st, and never looked back from there. Keeping the big blue thumbs kicks in check with his outstanding fielding and catching, Williamson was a force to be reckoned with. He could not contain his out-getting abilities tho, and it carried over to his plate appearance. With a runner on 2nd, 2 outs, full count, Kevin stepped up and delivered a line drive, directly into the unsuspecting thigh of his own teammate! She was out, the inning over, Williamson returned to the field, where his reign of terror continued to thwart the big blue thumbs offensive attempts.

The Big Blue Thumbs battled the Red Balls and Vodka hard last night. It was a one run game, and then Brendan Bersey showed up. His skilled kicking leg generated a run or 2, and that was all the thumbs needed. With a 3 run lead in the 7th, Bersey stepped up and made a great catch in the outfield, and dislocated one of his fingers in doing so! He quickly ran to one of his teammates, who helped him pop it back in, and the Thumbs went on to victory!

Even though Amber's team lost, she was awarded the player of the game on Wednesday by the Violent Chubbies. Amber kicked the ball clear over the outfielders head for a double in that game impressing the other team.

It was a hard fought battle on the field last night in Ballard. The Big Blue Thumbs found themselves in a sticky situation, down 4 runs, 2 outs in the bottom of the 7th inning. The bases were loaded, and that's when Brendan Bersey stepped up to the plate. He jumped all over the first pitch, and sent it soaring into deep right field. run after run came across the plate, until it was Bersey himself scoring the tenth run for his team, sending the game into extra innings. The thumbs managed to score another couple of runs in the bottom of the 8th to take the victory.
