Week two of playoffs left four teams vying for the coveted Underdog trophy, but it would not be won without being battle tested in the semifinals. Impinj and Buntin is a Habit both looked poised to steal the crown after demolishing their semifinal opponents by a combined score of 46-16. Impinj started off with a bang in their semi, with 7 runs in the 2nd and never looked back. Meanwhile on the neighboring field, Buntin' methodically marched through the first three innings with a comfortable lead of 18-3. The championship then gave way to a clash of the titans, with both teams launching home runs, diving for fly balls, and manufacturing run after run. Impinj looked to make a run in the end, keeping Buntin' scoreless for the final four innings but three runs couldn't erase the early deficit they faced. And with stellar defense from players like Megan Owens, who can blame Impinj for their offensive struggles. She seemed to be an impenetrable wall all day long, closing the door on rallies with double plays over and over. Congratulations Buntin' is a Habit on a great season!
