ClearPoint, Gary Busey's Kickball Doozies, Golden Showers - Indy #1, Serenity by Jan
POTW: Pamela Lawrence
Kicktastrophe!
We love to welcome new Underdogs to the field! Pam Lawrence played her first game in Underdog Kickball last night, and while she made a few rookie mistakes, she also had some key plays, including the last out of the game, giving her team a 3-1 victory in their debut. Pam had gained a little confidence by the time of her post-game interview: "Basically I am the voice of this generation of this decade at kickball. No one can stop me," she said.
*Editor's note- that last sentence was made up for comedic effect.
Congrats, Pam, and welcome to the league.
Natasha had a great game! After getting two great run-ins, she came out on defense and did work! With a pop fly heading her way, she skillfully caught the ball with the very tips of her fingers

POTW: Nolan Bradbury
Serenity by Jan
Nolan's reluctance to roll anything over the plate kept Golden Shower's legs in check, as they just couldn't catch up to the inside cheese. The team record keeper let me know after the game that Nolan recorded more outs than anyone else on the team ... (it was unclear whether she was referring to Nolan's offensive or defensive performance)

POTW: Cameron Post
Gary Busey's Kickball Doozies
This weeks player of the week goes to Cameron Post of "Gary Busey's Kickball Doozies". It was his performance on the defensive side of the ball, making plays of a veteran Kickballer! Anything in his direction if it wasn't caught, he was making plays to the correct bases, and making lots of outs. great job Cameron!

POTW: Jacob Morris
Kicktastrophe!
Jacob "Baby" Morris had a dynamic week downtown, somehow pulling off the itty bitty, teenie tiny, short shorts w/ striped socks look, while having enough left in the tank to haul in some amazing catches.
ClearPoint, Farkle Motion, Kicktastrophe!, Serenity by Jan
POTW: Rob Pearson
Six-Pack Away
There was no doubt Thursday night that Handsome Rob Pearson's hair was pretty damn sweet, but there WAS, however, some speculation on the sidelines over whether or not he had game. Specifically, teammates were concerned about his defense, suggesting that perhaps it would be in the team's best interest to relegate him to right field. But Rob silenced his critics in the fifth inning when, given a one-shot opportunity at first base, he caught three screaming liners in a row to retire the side. The team plans to have bronze casts made of Handsome Rob's hands over the weekend.

POTW: Alex Christlieb
ClearPoint
The first game Thursday went down to the wire, with ClearPoint taking the lead in the top of the seventh after trailing since the first. Alex was instrumental in his team's victory, going 4 for 4 with two ground-rule doubles, and driving in the winning run. Alex also very nearly had a home run, sending the ball onto the pavement in left-center field, but he cheated - dude was half way to the mound when he kicked it.
Ashley smith was reaching third base safely when her teammate came running from second yelling at her to "go home!", "GO HOME!". The ball was being throw in from the left field but she had no choice but to run for home. The pitcher caught the ball and just as he threw it, Ashley did a jumping roll to cross home plate and increase her team's lead on their was to Victory.

7th Place Game
Farkle Motion vs. Golden Showers
POTW: Clark G
Booze on First
Clark's homer to left got the scoring kicked off in this close, contentious battle. Both sides made a strong case for themselves, but ultimately Booze on First's ability to keep an even keel in the tense late innings produced a two run lead in the top of the seventh, and from there it was just defense as usual to secure the first round victory.
Azar had the most awesome play, it was a sight to see. He dove to catch a pop fly, then turned it into a double play to third while still sprawled out on the ground. He really knows how to show of some those awesome kickball skills!
Farkle Motion forfeited to Golden Showers - Indy #1.
POTW: Jenella Young
Booze on First
Jenella Young capped Booze on First's improbable come-from-behind win with a walk-off ground-out to the mound, allowing the winning run to score from third.
