On the opening night of the second game of the new Hazel Valley Elementary School in Burien Glen's Angels came to play! They were super strong on the net and picked up everything. The POG was most definitely Greg Quitiquit who had several strong kills. His determination and skills helped in the success of his team winning 3-0.
It was one of the finest moments of Burien V-ball League history, Liz Q sets up her partner for a stunning quick set that converted into a smashing ten foot line POINT! She lead her team to a 3-0 victory with such intensity and skill. As her teammates said, "No ball hit the ground with Liz around!"
Fred was top notch at the game. He played a strong three games and battled for every point. He was set up well by his teammates and presented such perfection with his outstanding kills. Fred was definitely the POTW with his quickness and ability to "get up and SPIKE."
Jeff has been a strong hitter for the Indy team and this week his defense skills have improved. He finally figured out that he can pass pretty accurately. Jeff never let a ball hit the ground. While being active on the net on defense and dependable on hits, the Indy team was able to bounce back from the two tough weeks they had prior to a win to get them back on track and one step closer to the playoffs.
As usual Glen's Angels proved their athletic volleyball skills on the court. Stefan really played well this week and is noted as the player of the week because of his cute smile full of braces and his ability to play out of his comfort zone as outside hitter. His jumps are out of this world and he continued to find a way to make great contact with the ball! Great Job Stefan your team loves you and you really stepped up when they needed you.
Even on a day where the heat is record high, Mary Nguyen still is pumped up and ready for volleyball action. Mary is our POTW becuase of her naturally fast twitch ability to dig a spiked ball and set great sets from some unsettable passes. She has reflexes like a cat that allow her to be almost anywhere on the court. This week she was exceptional with her proven hitting ability. She rocked'em and sock'ed em with hits coming every which way. This indy team plays so well together and you can tell that they have lots of fun. Great job Mary!!!!
Lori was the POTW becuase of her outstanding leadership. She was been a rock for her team the entire season. She is good about keeping them focused and deligating if they do something wrong or are out of place. She is very dedicated to Underdog and is a player in more than one league. She was a strong hitter and sacrificed her body just to save the ball. Lori you are a true Underdog die hard! Great season.
