Bad News Bears Win In Comeback
Bad News Bears Win In Comeback
Team Finds Bat's On Switch And Explode
Tuesday night's game between Bad News Bears and Dream Crushers was one for the books and a classic. This was a battle royale, a throwdown, a straight up war between two amazing teams. Hats off to both teams for their hustle, their hitting and keeping it classy in a closely contested game. Early on it was Dream Crushers just crushing and cruising out to a 12 to 5 lead and just beating the ball all over the field. Not to be out done the Bad News Bears fired back ripping off 8 runs of their own and pulling to within 1 run. After holding Dream Crushers to 4 runs in the top half of the next inning Bad News Bears caught fire and ripped off 9 runs heading into the 6th. Superb defense holds the Dream Crushers to zero runs over the next two innings and that was all she wrote. Great game and great come from behind win.

Kate Adballa Goes On Tear At The Plate
Well the season is in full swing and the teams have already started to distance themselves. The Junk Yard Dogs are the real deal and they are putting down the challenge to all league teams. They are ruthless at the plate and can 10 run a team with the drop of a hat. Their defense is equally impressive not showing a lot of holes anywhere as they cover ground like a major league team. They run the base pads aggressively turning singles into doubles and putting huge amounts of pressure on teams. Look out league.

Evan Soderquist Put On Free Hitting Clinic
The Upper Deckers are peaking right now and their game is looking very strong. They have a secret weapon, Evan Soderquist, this guy does it all. Hits for power, defense is stellar and the Mariners may want to come and check this guy out. Week in and week out this guy brings it win or lose and its refreshing to see a softball player with so much passion and leadership. Awesome game Evan and great win for Upper Deckers.

Jenn Molinari Hits First Ever Home Run
This week's player of the week goes to Ms. Jenn Molinari who hit her very first career home run. She batted 3 for 4 and added a double and a single while driving in two runs. Her defense at first base is stellar and if her team is smart they will extend her contract into next season and ensure her return to the team. She's hands down one of the best female players in the league and its a pleasure watching her each time out. Great win for WGTR and a great game from Jenn.

Sam O'Flaherty Hits First Ever HR
The Western Gripped Knuckle Balls are on fire right now and they don't look to end their winning trend anytime soon. Behind lights out pitching and getting after it at the plate this team looks unstoppable and a tough test for any league team. They knocked off the Smashers easily scoring 22 runs over 7 innings and looked invincible while doing it. As we head toward the playoffs this team is a team every other league team should be concerned with. Come to play and bring your best. If not, it's going to be a very long night for you. Great win for WGK and great game Sam.

The McNasties are an aptly named team and they are indeed nasty when it comes to getting after it on the softball field. Their hitting, their aggressive base running, their pitching and their over all hustle is an awesome sight to behold. They plan on playing for a championship at the end of the season and any teams that may have the same idea, your road will definitely go through the McNasties. Grant Klein Delivers Knock Out Blow Late
In a game that saw its ebbs and flows throught not to mention the tug of war that went on for most of the game. It was a game full of awesome play and some very awesome energy from both teams. WGK took a 2 run lead into the bottom of the 7th inning hoping to hold of the Dream Crushers and walk away with a much needed win. Then it happened.... with 2 out and 2 on, into the box steps Grant. After taking the first pitch for a strike, he settles in and on the very next pitch he sees, he smokes it up the middle to score the tying run and the winning run. Game over. good night, drive safe and we will see you next week. Great game Grant and great come from behind win for the Dream Crushers.

JR and the Crew Put It Together
Well Indy #S11 got a much needed win on Thursday night against the Sultans of Swing and are finally putting the pieces together in the right places to make a play off run. Showing consistency throughout, they scored runs in each inning at bat and really locked it down on defense giving themselves a chance to win the game early on. Every week they have improved at the plate and on defense and the prospects of a championship run are not out of the question. The league is rich in talent with some very good teams, but don't sleep on this team. If you do you may see an early exit from the playoffs. Great game Andy and great win Indy #S11.

Team Having Fun And That's All That Matters
Well, it hasn't been the best season so far for the Smashers but they are improving each week and learning what it takes to be a force in the USL leagues. They have improved in every area each week and scoring 18 runs on powerhouse Bad News Bears is a sign of great things to come if they remain a team and continue to play together. This bunch is fun, they are very energetic and they show up and play hard every week. My hat goes off to the Smashers and all of the hard work they have put into their season. I hope to see you guys in future leagues and will be rooting for you. Go Smashers!!

Tom Macak Pitches Lights Out
Indy #S11 is looking the real deal and are peaking just in time for the playoffs. Led by Tom Macak's hot bat and pitching this team is ready for the playoffs. Rarely do you get an indy team that's beating up on established teams but this team is the real deal. Their bats are hot, their defense is tight and their energy is high. They are going to challenge the best teams in the league and that's a fact. We do need to work out a name for them as they plan on staying together and I look forward to seeing them compete in future leagues. Great win and great game from Tom.

Chelsea Nyhus Pitches Gem In Win
Slugfest has finally put it all together and they are looking to play spoiler for any team vying for a league title. behind strong hitting and the pitching of Chelsea Nyhus, they looked dominant against a team that's usually hard to get by. Something happened and something clicked because I have not witnessed them play at this level before. Wow! If this team stays together the rest of the teams around the leagues better beware. They are about two seasons away from being a league power house. Hats off to Slugfest for putting it all together finally.

Upper Deckers Knock Off Power House JYD
Dream Season Continues
The Upper Deckers, after being together for quite a few seasons have finally started to put it all together. As a new league team a few years back they took their lumps but they always played hard and had very high energy as a team. Now, the tables have turned and they are now ready to capture the throne and rule for as long as they wish. They have improved every single year in all areas. Their hitting, their base running, their patience at the plate and their defense has raised them to new heights. Whether they capture the league title is really up to them as it theirs to lose. They proved that on Tuesday night winning back to back games and knocking off power house Junk Yard Dogs. From the beginning it was apparent that the Upper Deckers were not going down without a fight. They kept the game close until the 4th inning and then it happened. Their bats caught fire and before you know it eight runs have come across the plate and the Junk Yard Dogs are left reeling. The Junk Yard Dogs did manage to close the gap a bit but in the end it was defense, excellent pitching and a sheer will to win that propelled the Upper Deckers. It's been an amazing run for this team but the mountain top is still a little ways off. Great win and we look forward to seeing you in action next week as the playoffs continue.

Jason Kono Goes Off
The Bad News Bears have their eyes set on a 3-peat and the way things looked on Thursday night they are well on their way. Powered by Jason Kono's 2 Hrs, triple, two doubles and 6 RBIs they ran right through McNasties with ease. Their defense is superb, their aggressive base running is a sight to behold and their bats are definitely turned on. Right now they are the number 4 seeded team which means there are better teams, or are there? As the playoffs continue the big dogs will definitely have to meet the big dogs. Knocks Off No. 3 and No. 7 To Stay Alive
The Dream Crushers are up to their winning ways again and clearly crushing the dreams of those hoping for a league title. This team is spirited, well coached and get after it every single game. They are clearly on a mission and as far as they are concerned, the title is theirs to lose. Behind some very strong pitching by Emily this team started hot and stayed hot both games scoring a combined 32 runs over 2 games. Their defense is tight, their bats are hot and they don't look like they are going to run into any trouble from any teams in the near future. Bad News Bears Win Yet Another Title
Strong Defense Key In Win
The Bad News Bears have done it again. They reign supreme as USL league champions for the 7th time. Behind some very strong defense and just enough run support, they dominated the Dream Crushers down the stretch and hold on for a much deserved one run win. Both teams played their butts off but in the end it was defense that proved to be the deciding factor. This team has been around for quite some time and they keep getting stronger and stronger every season and show why they are always in a championship game.
