This week, our own Ashley Callahan was the player of the week for her unstoppable determination. Whilst on her way home from 3rd base, Ashley's knee went out and she fell over. Undeterred, Ashley got up, avoiding the incoming tag from the opposing team. After a sublime dodge, Ashley tagged home for the score. For this unbelievable hustle play, Ashley is our player of the week.

Jingyi Feng
Draft This
Yeah buddy! Jingyi F earns this week's Player of the Week for being all over the place in what would appear to be one of his first kickball games ever. Things were up and down for Jingyi all game, as he crushed a double to center that plated 2 runs, but overran 2nd base and was tagged out to end the inning. Oops! Never fear, next time to the plate Jingyi made sure he wouldn't be tagged out on the bases as he crushed a 3 run homerun to right, racing around the bases and almost lapping one of his teammates! Great game out there!

Paul Mitzel
Paul Dives into DocuBallers
Throughout the first few innings wet fields and equipment proved difficult to adjust to. 4 innings of no scores brought down hopes to both teams, not to mention it want the warmest. But alas there was hope... and we called him Paul. Pauls Energy carried though those hard innings and spread to all that plaid that cold wet field! Thanks Paul for the energy.... and no it want a catch ;-)

Sarah Andrews
Andrews get the outs
In a game where every out counts Sarah makes sure everyone is caught. With a bold move of moving Sarah into left field she made great plays but stood out with two amazing catches. line drive or pop ups made no difference Sarah s hands let none down! Great job Sarah
This week was plagued with amazing plays! I witnessed great catches, a bunt turned home run, but none compared to the sacrifice Amanda made to seal her teams victory in the 6th! Amanda made a great kick into empty air and was quick enough to distract the defense in getting her out long enough to have two teammates cross home plate. Those two runs proved detrimental to their opponents as they came within two in the bottom of the 7th. The Foot Clan owes their victory to Amanda and can safely say the Clan wouldn't be the same without a little Meeks.
Games are won or lost on the bunts, and with Brandi behind the plate dont count on making to to first. This leftfooted ball wizard multiple times used her amazing ball placement skills to KICK the runners out at first. Even her own first baseman was in awww as he watched Brandi's perfect kick gently land in his hands for the out. Kick away Brandi.....kick away

Gianni Tsoulouhas
DocuBallers
Gianni gets player of the week this week for a couple reasons. For one, Gianni made the most incredible catch this referee has seen in kickball. On a high fly ball in foul territory, Gianni sprinted from first base to deep in the outfield, grasping the ball right before it hit the ground. Oh, and if that was not good enough he TAPPED HIS FEET IN PLAYABLE territory, showing superhuman awareness. And to top it all off, Gianni selflessly cleaned up a huge pile of you-know-what with a piece of paper from my clipboard. Gianni is easily our player of the week, but player of the league might be a more apt title.

Summer Dela Cruz
The Foot Clan
This was Summer's debut week with her team- and the weather she brought with her was reflexive of her name! Summer played the whole game without committing any infractions- a sure first in this umpire's experience. Summer also kept a great demeanor throughout the whole game. For her debut performance, Summer is our player of the week.
Designated Glitters - Indy #K7 forfeited to We Got the Runs.
Tyler Liechty
"He's a Football Player"
This week, Tyler went all out in-game. Well, perhaps it would be more apt to say he went all out ... in between plays. For one, Tyler chased a rogue kickball well into the jungle gym behind the field, sacrificing life and limb along the way to retrieve the ball as quickly as possible. Tyler's team reminded this umpire that "He's a football player... He's just gonna go after it." Additionally, Tyler lept partially over the side fence of the field in order to keep a ball from heading out into the street, in grand fashion. For his epic ball retrieval skills, positive demeanor, and give-it-all attitude, Tyler is our player of the week.
Smell the Glove capped off a Cinderella run through the playoffs, beating the #1 and #2 seeds to take the title on Thursday. The championship match was a lot closer than the final score, seeing several lead changes throughout the first 5 innings. But in the top of the 6th with score tied at 5 and runners 2 on, Grant Hughes put his team ahead for good with a bases clearing triple. Smell the Glove left no doubt, adding another 6 runs in the top of the 7th, to take home the title.
