Fall Eastside Softball at Odle Middle School

In the first game of the Barking Gecko's twin bill, Chris Johnston had two hits and scored two runs in BG's hard fought 9-7 victory. Johnston's hustle on the base paths was also impressive as on of his single's was an infield hit. Adding to the legend of Chris Johnston, was his throw from right field that not only "air mailed' the waiting catcher, but flew over the backstop. No small feat! The person sent to find the softball reminded this reporter of someone looking for their golf ball in the "native fescue" on a local golf course.
The Barking Gecko's completed their sweep of the double header with a 9-5 win in the 2nd game over the Master Blasters.

In a game played during a August monsoon, Matt Russell led the Normal Deviants to their first win of the season. Russell played an outstanding centerfield, making a number of diving catches to stymie Master Blaster rallies. Matt also had a couple of hits to back up his stellar outfield play.

In a tight game that wasn't decided until the 7th inning, Kevin Anderson led the Evil Tangents to a 10-8 win over the Dingers. Anderson had 3 key hits and scored 3 runs to help offensively and pitched and outstanding game that aided the Evil Tangents on the defensive side.
