Winter Co-ed Volleyball in Everett Sundays

There's a new Indy team in town that call themselves, Orange is the New Black, and Tom Hilliard put on a show in Week 1. In the second match, Tom came down with an emphatic one-handed block that scored a point for his team and he was putting up a defensive wall more than once in this game! For a team that hasn't played together before, they did a nice job at creating some strong plays on offense and defense. I look forward to seeing this team grow and build chemistry, but for now - I warn the others to look out for Tom! Great job this week, Underdogs!

This team has played together since the start of the Everett league and I absolutely love their team chemistry! They come out every week enthusiastic to play and they have the best attitude about winning or losing. Amy definitely deserves Player of the Week because she is more than the team captain, but is the loudest cheerleader on the sidelines congratulating both teams for good volleys, strong plays, and even failed attempts. Amy holds this team together and has the most fun out of anyone on the court. Thank you for holding up to the Underdog ways of sportsmanship and making other people smile! You're definitely a winner in my book!

Captain of team Scared Hitless, Riley Lehecka, is emphatic on the court. He made several big plays to score during the match and it's time to finally give recognition for his efforts. Riley earns Player of the Week because he's also constantly making an extra effort to show support to his teammates which is exactly what a captain should do. He keeps spirits high, congratulates both teams for great plays, and is an all around great player. Nice win this week, Riley, and way to bring the hammer down on those spikes!

Player of the Week goes to Erica from team Everballers. She was everywhere on the court making plays and definitely worked her way to the top to earn recognition! Erica is a tall athlete and can easily use that to her advantage on the court, but she also has great fundamental volleyball skills. She sets, serves, kills, and dives on the floor to make saves! There was a couple last second digs that brought the ball back in action scoring the team points. We also can't forget the positive attitude Erica maintains while she cheers on her teammates and congratulates every player win or lose. You're a true Underdog, Erica! Way to go!
