Teamwork and energy is the name of the game for TopFlight. Constant enthusiasm and encouragement, provided in large part by key player Mark Philpart, helped TopFlight outrun the Rx Pushers 35-27 in the final game. After gliding by the #1 seed in the semifinal with a huge amount of pressure on the opposing quarterback, TopFlight brought their smart playing style to the big game. They completed numerous short yardage passes to chip away toward the endzone and were relentless in their offense. A few big plays on defense, such as an interception returned for a touchdown in the second half, also helped them put the game away. Each player held his own in this championship game, exemplified by the POTG nomination going to the whole team. Great job TopFlight!

The Warriors have faced some ups and downs this season after winning the spring championship, but they didn't let that affect their playoff performance. After winning the semifinal against the Lawn Wranglers, they faced the very tough Channel 4 News Team. Warriors took an early lead and kept it until near the end of the second half, when Channel 4 tied the game. Warriors then scored once more to go ahead, but there was still time left for the News Team. They drove down the field, but with two seconds left Sam Baker of the Warriors made a game saving tackle on the 1/2 yard line to keep Channel 4 from scoring and maintain the lead, and thus the victory. It was a great finish for a great all around hardcore season, and the Warriors were able to defend their title. Congrats Warriors!
