Fall Co-ed Kickball at Lower Woodlands Thursdays

Player of the Week honors go out to the man responsible for the Play of the Week. TBD had the bases loaded with two outs in a close game when the ball was kicked into the outfield, landing for what was a sure base hit and a sure two runs. Or so everyone thought. However, Scott Barber had other ideas, racing from his rover position to grab the ball on one hop and make a perfect laser throw over to third base for the force out that allowed no runs to score and preserved the lead in an eventual one run victory in week one.

In an unprecendented night of Underdog Kickball, we were lucky enough to actually see TWO triple plays occur. The cake goes to Tall Paul Carpenter, who actually pulled the rarest of rare, the unassisted triple play. Paul caught a fly ball in the outfield on the run for the first out, tagged first to get a runner who failed to tag for number two, and to put the icing on, nailed a runner tagging from third just before he reached home plate. How about that!

Andy Oakley of Balls of Rubber was all over the field this week in his team's victory over the Angry Pirates in the Fall Co-ed Kickball at Lower Woodlands Thursdays league. Andy had a series of solid kicks on offense and throws on defense, and demonstrated that he wasn't afraid to get dirty to help his team out by sliding into home. Good job Andy!

This week in the Fall Co-ed Kickball at Lower Woodlands Thursdays league Jennifer Carroll of TBD made the most out of their make up game where this time the lights weren't a problem. Her two solid catches on defense and motivational fireball attitude helped her team defeat Tall Paul's Balls 9-2. Good job Carroll!

Dan played solid "D" at first base using his 50" wingspan to stretch out on the short hops. On offense a wily female Unicorn outfielder had his number in the semifinal, he was all trumps in the championship kicking in the go ahead and eventual game winning run. He was a key performer in his team's first league title.
