Christine (Christy) pitched a gem of a ball game even after being subject to ridicule from he own catcher! I thought the catcher was supposed to heckle the opposing team... But on this night, Where my Pitches at backstop was totally focused on working the nerve of his own pitching mate. But the highlight of the evening was the fact that Christy offered to grab the umpire's balls. Now before you remove your mind from the gutter, it was an offer of the red kickballs that had been used for the games!!!

Bases May Not Be Loaded, But We Are
Boy oh boy, what a night for Bases, and no player had a better night than Colton. He lined a 2-run home run to left field in the first inning, kicked a bases-clearing double in the second inning, then crushed a deep bomb to center for a 2-run home run in the 4th to put his team comfortably ahead 17-0. All in all, Colton reached base all 5 times he kicked, going 5-5 with 2 HR and 8 RBI to earn this week's player of the week. Congrats!

Josh Claeys
KickTease
Josh was all over the place on Thursday, and earns our player of the week honors. He hit two home runs and made every play that came to him in center field, even losing his glasses a few times in the process! For his MVP-caliber performance, Josh is our player of the week.

Jeff A.
Bases May Not Be Loaded, But We Are
Jeff had a huge game in propelling his team past the One Kick Wonders on Tuesday. He completed the cycle and then some, adding in an extra double and triple. If he'd had two more times through the order, we would have bet on him picking up the rare 'double cycle'. Great Job Jeff!

Mercedes C.
Alaskan Snow Dragons
Mercedes had a huge game in the field for the Snow Dragons on Thursday. She was all over the field on defense, catching everything that was kicked her way. After making 3 crucial outs in right field, her team moved he to short stop for the final inning where she skillfully snagged a line drive to put an end to the game.

James H.
Kiss My Bunt
With 2 outs and an 0-1 count early in the game, Jim did the near impossible and made 4 outs with one kick. He kicked the ball high towards the 3rd base line, which was caught for an out (out #1), but the ball was also foul (out #2). He didn't stop there though....he also kicked the ball out in front of the plate (out #3). To top it all off, he also man bunted (out #4). Congratulations to Jim on kicking for the out cycle!

Taryn Skubic
Where my Pitches at
Taryn was pure money on the mound tonight. In a game that was tightly contested where runs were hard to come by, she pitched a gem of a ball game holding the opposition to one run. This was a classic of a ball game and played in true major league fashion as Taryn pitched 6 great innings before giving way to the pen to close out the game in the 7th and final inning.

Solid Finish!
This weeks honors go to the squad of Chalupa Batman for finishing their season very strong. In a game that was 5 to 5 after the 7th, Chalupa battled well with a 5 and 1 squad. Chalupa showed stellar defense, and were racking up great outs. The game went 8 innings and the Chalupa's, who finished with no wins, came close to making a mark with a league best team! Great job Chalupa, you guys were really starting to gel.
One Kick Wonders ride offensive wave to advance to Championship game!
Team continues offensive tear, wins 4th straight game!
Boom goes the dynamite! That is what the Sportscenter anchor would say doing the recap of these two games that propelled One Kick Wonders into the Championship game. After losing their first 4 games (and getting crushed by Kicktease in the process), they have really found their stride in winning the last four, including two playoff games, by putting on an offensive show. From scoring 7 runs in the first inning of the first game to scoring 6 in the final two of the second game, they showed they have what it takes to take the championship next week. Congrats One Kick Wonders!
