Late Summer Midcore Kickball in Everett Thursdays

This Thursday at the Late Summer Co-Ed Kickball Everett League Katy Reynolds of E-Town 4-Life was all about speed, whether it was running the bases on offense or throwing runners out at first base while playing pitcher. Katy made a solid contribution to E-Town's victory over Just for Kicks and was commended by teammates for having 'wheels and a cannon.' Good job Katy!

We're supposed to choose a Player of The Week here, but really we just had to go with a Game of the Week. It came in the form of the last game of the night between two powerhouses- Big Booty and Mellow Yellow. The yellow jumped out early and kept it that way for quite a while, nursing a 6-1 lead for the better part of the game. Big Booty were getting good kicks in, but Mellow Yellow's Bro Martin swallowed all of them whole, being everywhere on the field at once, including some brilliant kicks to first base to beat out a bunter. The Booty Crew began to turn the tide late, though. A few runs in the bottom of the sixth gave them some confidence. Mellow Yellow tacked on a few insurance runs in the top half of the 7th and we went to the bottom with a score of 4-9. Fatigue seemd to be setting in for Mellow Yellow (they were finishing off their late double header)
and Big Booty took full advantage of a few fielding errors. Before we could blink, we had a tie score with the bases loaded and only one out. A high fly ball to the outfield brought a second out, but also brought the winning run in on the tag, and Big Booty had come all the way back. How about that?

Another solid kickball performance for Debbie.
She was an absolute wall at second base on defense.
Mrs. Doherty matched her defensive skillz with a torrid day at the plate. She helped erase the weakness of her team only having seven players...

Pulling a little soccer move, Joel, playing third base, used defensive mastery and kicked a hot grounder that pinpointed right to the first baseman to kill a late game rally.
In addition, he was mixed up in most of the run surging inning for Chopper in their quest for their first league title.
