Spring Rookie Co-ed Kickball at Ballard Boys and Girls Club Sundays

It could have been the shades, it could have been the headband...whatever it was, Derek brought his "A" game this day.
With a nail-biting inning in store, Derek took to the plate with a couple runners on, and knocked a surly basehit to bring in the eventual winning run. Not to mention, he looked like no 'Rookie' out on defense.

It's been a while since we've seen a game end 1 - 0 here in Underdog Kickball land. It was all defense in a highly contested game between the Ball Smashers and Hot Lunch Is Served on Sunday. In the bottom of the seventh, we were still tied at zero, when Kris Bulakowski decided to bring in the heroics. With two outs and a runner on third, Kris kicked the game winning RBI single to give The Hot Lunch crew probably their most rewarding win of the season. Good job, Kris.

It's been a tough season for Off In a Corner, but they looked to have a fresh start in the playoffs and maybe grab an upset victory. Well, upset they did on Sunday afternoon, knocking off the #1 seed Turn Your Head & Cough in a thrilling first game of the day. There were great plays on all fronts, but Ryan Neary took the cake by far, with the play of the game. Ryan showed true grit as he turned an infield single into an inside the park home run, by taking advantage of some overthrows and turning on his jets. He dove head first into home, narrowly beating the final throw, determined to not go down without a fight. Ryan's guts ensured that they'll be back next week and have a shot at it all.
