Justin took the off-season well as he came out in mid season form, not missing a beat. Justin was 4 for 4 at the plate with 2 long homers. The play that locked it up for him happened in the first inning of the first game. A opposing player hit one deep and was flying around the bases with serious speed, Justin cocked and fired from the cutoff position and threw a BB right to the bag for a nice low tag. Phenomenal play, and starting the season off right. Great game Justin!

Chase Childers
Indy #S1
Chase of (the) Mi$fits is definitely a player that everyone wants/needs on their team. Not only is he a superstar on the field and at the plate, he's also a great motivator and coach. During his first game, he sent two shots down the line resulting in a pair of homeruns. Also, during that same game, as the pitcher, he contributed to all 3 outs in one inning. He was doing all this while helping his teammates out through encouraging words and constructive criticism. Way to set a great example to all, Chase!!
Master Batters played 2 great back to back games w/the help of a certain player who went 9 for 10 and was unstoppable on D. His name is Doug. He had the hot bat of the night, hitting in at least 7 runs and scoring himself a handful of times. Also, while playing the HOT corner at 3rd, him and the shortstop teamed up to make some outstanding plays. So cute and so athletic, those two:)
Keep up the good work, Doug

Stellar Overall Performance
Random Collision
Jackie had a game many wish they could have every week or at least once during a season. At the plate, Jackie was a triple away from hitting for the cycle. She capped her batting performance with a HR in the top of the 6th. Throughout the game, she continue to put herself in the right position to make plays at home.

Ice Cold Pitchers
Ice Cold Pitchers get the honors this week, and the whole team gets props as they are the Team of the Week. Everyone on the squad contributed to their win both on defense and offense. The Pitchers made excellent plays in the field and didn't allow double digit runs which is good for a turf softball league. At the plate the Pitchers were anything but Ice Cold as they all got hits and sprayed the ball in all the gaps. With outstanding performances by all they are the Team of the week!

Jason Pitman
All Star Super Stars
Wow! Jason really put the bat on the ball Monday night. He sent 2 to deep, deep left field. One shot, hit the fence and that's gotta be at least 562 feet from home plate. He was definitely feeling it, going 4 for 4 w/2 homeruns and 2 doubles. It's always good to see a such a remarkable relationship between a man and someone else's bat:)

Dorothy N. earns this weeks player of the week for her excellence at the plate. Dorothy knocked the cover off the ball all game coming up with 6 hits and knocking in plenty of runs. Dorothy sprayed shots all over the field and her opponent had no answers for her. Great job Dorothy.

Dagney showing off the leather
Dagney C of the Ice Cold Pitchers has clearly played this game before. Her skills in the field far outmatched any player in today's game. When the other team was asked who deserved played of the game they quickly replied "give it to the other team's left fielder, she was great!" In their doubleheader she far surprised a dozen catches in left field. Nothing was getting past Dagney on this night, great work!
The intensity around Bonny Morris Playfield could be felt all around capital hill as the playoffs got underway tonight. Trevor, known as Travis, Smith wanted to leave little doubt that his team would be advancing to the second round as he blasted a mammoth homerun in the first inning. Then in a tight game in the fifth inning he launched another blast that left his team cheering in celebration and secured the Ice Cold Pitchers a spot in the next round.
This weeks Player of the Week was a no brainer as Natalie M. played ridiculously awesome in her two games on her way to winning the Chipper. Natalie made the catch of the night that squashed a building rally by her opponent. It was a ball smashed deep to left-field where Natalie reached up on the run and snagged what would have a extra base hit. With runners in scoring position Natalie's catch sealed the win for her team. Natalie also hit bombs all night, routinely hit shots over the heads of the defense. Natalie was on fire in very rainy weather and closes out the season as Player of the Week as well as Champ!
