Sunday Softball
Sometimes the first couple innings of the first game can be the toughest for teams. Sunday mornings/afternoons can be a rough recovery day. But that did not slow down Soft balls, Hard Bats. They started off HOT! Frankie, the team captain was sending em flying over the heads of the outfielders. So was Kyle, who had 4 homeruns for the day. All together, in their 2 games, they scored 38 runs. That's some serious offense. Great job out there, team!

Bout That Action Boss
There are quite a few good shortstops in this league. They are put at that position, usually b/c they are one of the best fielders. Some can even make plays happen when normally they would be easy hits. Patrick of Bout that Action Boss is one of THOSE shortstops. Dude made a leaping line drive catch, during game 3 of the day, that could have put a hole through most fielders gloves. His offense was also top notch hitting in a day high of 10 runs off of triples, homers and more triples. Great stats and keeping it light out there made him the player of the week. Keep up the good work, Ozzie!

The Empty Pitchers win a close one
Happy Mother's Day to all current and future mothers on this beautiful Sunday at Queen Anne Playfields! What would Mom want more than anything? How about an Underdog softball victory? The Empty Pitchers and Slammers SC squared off for their storied rivalry with just such a prize at stake, in addition to a few unofficial items predetermined by the teams. Not to be denied was The Empty Pitchers' own Alex Hurley as he nearly went for the cycle, going 4-for-4 from the plate including a bases clearing triple! In the end, The Empty Pitchers held on in the final inning, stranding 3 opposing baserunners on base to deny the attempted comeback and securing a sweet 18-16 victory! Congrats to Alex Hurley, Player Of The Week!!

Playoffs at W Queen Anne Playfields were in full swing!
Championships won in dramatic fashion!
The highly anticipated playoffs were finally here at W Queen Anne Playfields and in the finals it was a tale of two fields. On field #2 it was the Softcore Championship with Dugouts squaring off against Smoldering Remains. In this playoff game, Dugouts jumped out to a lead in the first inning and never looked back. The game was still close until the final few innings when Dugouts poured it on behind the bat and defense of Sarah Smith, cruising to a 25-15 Championship win! On field #1 it was the Midcore Championship with No Pants Party taking on Empty Pitchers. In this epic battle, neither team could pull away from the other as the score remained tied in the 7th, 8th and 9th innings! This storybook game went a full 10 innings!! Then, in the bottom of the 10th inning, Zach Tracy of No Pants Party stepped to the plate to deliver the final game winning shot for a dramatic 9-8 victory! Congratulations to all of the teams on their memorable seasons!!!
