Art Seavey
Art Seavey
Saved by the Balls
Saved by the Balls player Art S. the first POTW of the season. Art came up big a couple of times in a tight game that went down to the wire ending 8 to 6 in his team's favor. Should be mentioned that both teams played outstanding defense and runs were hard to come by, but nobody topped Art's performance at the plate. With 2 deep home-runs Art was the difference maker in the game, and help his team start the season off with a great win. Art was also already in mid-season form on defense, and with his all around great play is this weeks Player of the Week. Great game Art!

Carlos Brizuela
Carlos Brizuela
Rumrunners
Carlos was the catalyst for Rumrunners as everything he did on the field seem to turn to gold. Carlos was all over the field making defensive plays, while being effective at the plate scoring runs and KBIs. Nothing was more important than Carlos's three run homerun in the first inning. This allowed Rumrunners to carry this momentum throughout the game and shake off the first week jitters to pull off the win against a tough Intrepid squad.

Eli Weber
Eli Weber
Balls and Dolls
In a highly competitive week, where almost every game was decided by a couple of runs, Eli Weber of Balls and Dolls was able to snag Player of the Week honors. Eli's contribution in the field was nothing short of amazing. In most weeks, this alone would have enabled him to take home POTW, but this week he needed a little more to win the award and bring home the W for his team. Eli was able to deliver the game winning kick in the bottom of the seventh inning to give Balls and Dolls their first victory of the season. Eli will be a force to be reckoned with the rest of the season.

Kristina Moe
Kristina Moe
Sit On My Base
Kristina “Miss Clutch” Moe of Sit on My Base deserves Player of the Week honors for being able to seize the opportunity when it presented itself. In a back and forth battle with the Blues Brothers, Kristina came up to kick in the bottom of the sixth with her team down a run, two people on base and two outs. This was one of those pressure situations that usually break people, but not Kristina. She calmly walked to the plate like she had done this 100 times. When Kristina laced a kick down the first base line that scored both base runners to give Sit on My Base the lead for good, she acted like this was no big deal. Kristina’s big kick helped propel Sit on My Base to their first victory of the season. Watch out league for the new superstar, Kristina Moe.

Chelsea Connaway
Chelsea Connaway
Intrepid
Chelsea Connaway was one of many players from Intrepid who could have taken Player of the Week honors. While Chelsea scored a couple of vital runs in a hotly contested battle with Punky Bruisers, each member of Intrepid played a major role in contributing to their first victory of the season. Like Chelsea, many members of Intrepid had been getting better as the season progressed since for many of them it was the first time playing Underdog Kickball. They had been on the verge of bursting through with a win the past couple of weeks, but just fell short. Thus this week they were able to put together a complete game that had to withhold a late game rally from Punky Bruisers. A warning to the rest of the league Chelsea and the rest of Intrepid are now finding their groove so beware.

Jameson Sylvia
Jameson Sylvia
Punky Bruisers
Playing as the "Underdogs" all day, Jameson had a fantastic day to help his team into the championship game of the Softcore 2 bracket. Playing with he bare minimum players, Jameson crushed a 2-run home run late to help his team win the first game, 16-13, then put on a Ruth-ian performance in the second game, kicking 2 3-run home runs in the first inning alone, then contributing another 3 run home run in he late innings to drive in 11 of his team's 17 runs in a 17-7 victory. Congrats Jameson!

Terry Teigen
Terry Teigen
Sit On My Base
Terry played some outstanding ball on Sunday, leading his team to two victories including the championship. His speed off the mound made many opponents bunts just easy outs and anything kicked in the infield was another easy out. Actually, most were NOT easy, he just made it look that way. On offense, he had some nicely placed kicks at key moments, with at least 7 runs scored and nearly as many kicked in, in his two games. It was a complete game effort for Terry and it couldn't have come at a better time--playoffs!
