Entercommies, Ligers, Lord of the Pants, Recess Rebels-Indy #1
POTW: Scotty V.
Cleveland Steamerz
In their first win of the season, the Cleveland Steamers got plenty of great contributions from each player. However, leading the way was Scotty V. who got on base each time up and scored two important runs in a 7-5 victory.
Dunder Mifflin, Kinky Kickers, Lord of the Pants, The Moustache Riders
POTW: Brit Sojka
Cleveland Steamerz
Cleveland Steamer Brit Sojka demonstrated mastery in catching the rain-balls, snaring in two extremely high pop-ups and was a team spirit leader during the teams demise. She is our Player Of The Week!
Super G sparked the Dunder Mifflin offense early by kicking a 2 run home run deep to left field. Try as they might, te Lord of the Pants defense wasn't able to throw him out on time. Super G's speed was just a little too much for them.
Dunder Mifflin, Kinky Kickers, Ligers, The Moustache Riders
POTW: Chad Watson
Lord of the Pants
With is signature move of always throwing the hat off before making the catch, Chad Watson was huge in the field on defense and never made an out at the plate in the Lord of the Pants win on Tueaday night. Chad received several calls from the crowd to throw off his hat AND his pants, but Chad is too classy for that. Way to be Chad....way to be....
Cleveland Steamerz, Ligers, Lord of the Pants, The Moustache Riders
POTW: Adrienne Sellers
Entercommies
Adrienne put just a little extra oomph into this one, with her team ahead in the bottom of the 5th inning, Adrienne kicked a long ball to deep right field, the ball was kicked so deep that she was able to round the bases for a home run. Congratulations Adrienne!
Cleveland Steamerz, Dunder Mifflin, Recess Rebels-Indy #1, The Moustache Riders
POTW: Jodi Wolfe
Lord of the Pants
This referee has never been good with words, but I will try to communicate why Jodi Wolfe is player of the week. She deserves that.
In all the kickball I have seen in my life, yes I am including elementary school and those drunken days in college when we didn't have anything better to do, I have never seen as good of a play. A player from Ligers kicks a well placed ball just over the first baseman's head. So natural logic would say, nice hit, nice placement, etc etc etc. Jodi Wolfe was having none of that. She slid in on her knees(no she was not in the grass) caught the ball and then forced out the person at first.
Ok, so that was a sad attempt at desribing how great of a play it was. Feel free to insert your own theatrical flare in the story to make it sound better to you.
Call him Mr. August, Brian Nangle, playing in the semifinal match, had a triple and an hr at the plate, while pitching some nasty straight off-speed changeups. Solid D and an active big toe make Brian our Player Of The Week. Who wants a Moustache Ride? I do, I do...
Boone led his Entercommies to their first league championship, with some great pitching, a couple stellar defensive plays including a fingertip catch, and a solo homerun.
