On a beautiful Sunday afternoon, Chris Burns of the Drillers led his team to victory over the Easy Swingers. Crushing two home runs for a total of six RBIs, Chris was the main driving force for the Drillers victory. Adding a couple of web gems in the field, he also stifled some key innings to secure the victory.

After leading the entire game, The Deuce let the lead slip away to the explorative Team Zissou in the top of the final inning. However, Josh Buckingham did not allow the game to slip away like the elusive Jaguar Shark. Josh came to bat with runners on 2nd and 3rd and hit a shot to left center that was more than deep enough for his teammate to stroll home, thus winning the game. Nice catch Josh.

Angela was a force in the last game of the day - going 4 for 4 at the plate with a triple and helping to turn 2 Dp's as Impinj doubled up their opponents 18-9. After the game Angela was signed by the M's to a 15 day contract and will start this tuesday in Center Field for Adam Jones who needs a day off. Nice work Angela....

Playing at the Lower Woodland fields is an art. Pete Campbell of team Bottom of the Fifth showcased his new work against Hoos on First. Hitting all three out of the park Home Runs, Pete racked up 9 RBIs, only 2 RBIs short of the most possible. Pete hit two three run HRs and Grand Slam. For his finale, he hit a 3 run in the park HR. Beautiful work Pete, beautiful.

Kind of a Big Deal
In the first week of playoffs for the Lower Woodland summer softball league, the bottom seated Kind of a Big Deal were not expected to go very far facing the top seated Empty Pitchers. However, Don Bizak lifted the Big Deals to victory by hitting a single, double and triple. Although he didn't quit make the cycle his effort was enough to give his team a three run win over the Pitchers, nice job Don.

Easy Swingers
Everyone knows that defense wins championships, however if a team has no offense not only will everyone get bored, but that team probably won't make it to the championship. That is why Chris Snyder of Easy Swingers stands out so much in the final week of the Greenlake/Lower Woodland league. Not only did Chris hit for the cycle in the semifinals, he also hit the only home run in the finals. While the cycle is nice for Chris' stats, it was his 2-run in the bottom of the second inning that sparked the Easy Swingers to victory over The Deuce. Way to hit it Chris.
