Spring Softcore Kickball at Lower Woodlands Mondays

Wes proved to be the ultimate sport! In the two games that he played, he endured constant mocking and ribbing from the ump and even endured self inflicting chastening. Through it all, Wes was able to play great defense in left center field while also being the ultimate run producer at the plate. Wes flashed great speed as he beat out infield hits but his ultimate triumph was when Wes came up to the plate with the bases juiced (loaded) and two outs, as he ripped a line drive in the gap in right center field that the average runner probably would have recorded a bases clearing double and possibly legging out a triple. Not Wes though, he went for the gusto and his hustle was rewarded with a two out Grand Salami. Grandma toasted Wes with mustard and rye bread (Dave Neihaus reference)...

This weeks player of the week is Caylee B. who acts as a player/coach of the Brews Your Daddy. Caylee came up big with a huge kick that cleared the bases and added insurance runs in her teams 17 to 7 victory. Caylee played solid defense as well, and lives by the code of "Bunting is for losers". Caylee bombs kicks on a weekly basis and this week her home run earns her Player of the Week!

Becky R of Sparkle Commotion played a golden-glove night at 3rd base. Nicknamed "the wall" by her teammates, her opponents, and the fans in the stands, there was nothing Becky could not stop. She must have robbed 3 different kickers of basehits. Her plays were extremely crucial in locking in the win against a tough opponent: Park and Rec - not the TV show. Keep up the great work, Becky!
